Lazy Day

Today has not been extremely productive and here’s the thing…
That’s okay.
I didn’t wake up as prime Nick…
I was pretty sluggish and I didn’t have that normal fire in my belly to attack the day.
I spent most of my time networking and talking with people.
Went to church as well because they were hosting service even though it was Friday…
And I didn’t really make time for sitting down and getting some deep work done and to be honest…
But I don’t think I could get a shit ton of deep work done today even if I wanted to.
So is this a 10/10 productive day? Nah.
And some days are just going to be like that.
I think days like these are a good sign that it’s time to take a break, rest, and recharge.
At a certain point, I used to harass the living shit out of myself for this.
“You’re lazy!”
“Stop being a fucking bitch!”
“Man the fuck up!”
On and on and on and on…
I would push through and the quality of my work would be absolute dog shit.
Overall, I would just be forcing myself to get work done and then would have to go back the next day and redo it…
And then on top of that, the next few days would just be lesser versions of the same shitty energy.
This is why I think it’s important to look at the definition we hold for what a “productive” day looks like…
Does every day need to be fire focus getting all the things done and you’re supremely perfect?
No, I don’t think many people are capable of doing that ALL the time.
Taking a lazy day and recharging so the next 3 days can be a better level of focus and energy can sometimes be the most useful thing you do for yourself.
Now, I do believe there have to be non-negotiables.
I’m still going to go hit the gym here in a bit…
And even though I’m struggling to make it through this post, I’m still going to get it done.
But do I really need to put another 3 hours into that client project? No, not really.
So I’m going to go hop into my bed, watch some of this course on LinkedIn Automations that I want to dive into…
Probably take a nap, and then go destroy my biceps and my back.
Sounds like a great day.
Do I want every day to be like this?
Nope, but I’m totally okay with today being like this.
So, my friends, I’ll leave you with this.
Understand that having one lazy day is not going to throw you off track entirely.
It honestly may be the best thing you can do to get yourself back on track
All the best, talk soon.
