Musings On Faith & Courage

Sometimes we doubt and worry about our future.
It’s only a natural part of the human experience.
Confidence, faith, certainty, whatever we want to call it…
Just like the tide it rises and falls.
Faith comes and goes…
And that’s okay.
The opposite of faith, which is anxiety, serves as a tool for us to be able to know something is not right.
We can choose to ignore it….
Or we can choose to embrace it, lean into it, and ask ourselves…
“What do I need to do differently?”
Sometimes the answer doesn’t come right away…
Sometimes it comes after a painful lesson…
Sometimes it takes a guide or mentor to show us what we can’t see…
Sometimes the answer comes after months of searching…
But no matter what, you must make it your life’s purpose to find those answers.
The other route is giving up.
And if you’re like me, that’s not an option.
But when we lack faith…
When we’re filled with self-doubt…
What do we do?
We act with courage.
Courage is about taking the action we need to, even if we don’t believe ourselves…
Hell, even if no one believes in us.
Courage is about ignoring all the negative voices in our mind and acting out the plan which has the highest likelihood of getting ourselves to our desired goal.
But what if we don’t have a goal?
What if we don’t know where we’re going?
Well, you might as well forget everything I’ve said altogether.
We must get clear on where we’re going…
Otherwise we drift around aimlessly.
There’s nothing I could think of that causes more depression for man.
