Our Attitude

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working in a close setting with a few guys on helping them get in the best shape of their lives.
It’s not like your traditional “I help guys lose 10-20 pounds with bla bla bla”
This whole program is based on reprogramming these guys’ minds so they can make being an in-shape person part of their core identity.
I wanted to share with you a small piece of the transmittal that was sent to them today.
Take a look below…
We’ve covered a lot in the past two transmittals and you’re starting to create momentum for yourself with your workouts, which is absolutely fantastic.
We’ve discussed creating new associations with our bodies, our health, and the gym…
And we’ve also touched on how negotiations start to take over our world…
In this transmittal, what I’d like to share with you will help accelerate the positive associations you create with each aspect of your fitness journey…
And will also help continue to minimize any negotiations that pop up along the way.
There’s a story about an old cowboy who had his property right next to the road leading into town, he’d sit on his front porch smoking cigars and watch all the different people coming by on horseback and in their carriages.
One day, a man trotted his horse right up to the cowboy’s porch and asked, “Hey old man, what kind of people stay inside this town?”
The cowboy ashed his cigar and said, “Well, what type of people are there in your town?”
The man said, “Oh it’s filled with absolute scum, they’re rude, vicious, and entirely selfish.”
The cowboy puffed on his cigar and said, “Yep, those people are in this town too.”
The man said, “Go figure!” and trotted into town with a scornful look on his face.
A few hours later, another man in a new carriage road up to the cowboy’s porch and asked, “Hey old man, what kind of people stay inside this town?”
The cowboy ashed his cigar and said, “Well, what type of people are there in your town?”
The man said, “Well it’s filled with hardworking, honest, kind, and respectful folk.”
The cowboy puffed on his cigar and said, “Yep, those people are in this town too.”
The man smiled, said thank you, and went on his way.
Here’s a universal truth you have to understand if you’re wanting to do anything worthwhile in your life…
“How we view the world, is how the world views us.”
If we see the world in a negative manner, then the world will appear to us as a depressing vortex of darkness. However, if we view the world in a positive manner, then the world will appear to us in a glistening aura of hope and prosperity.
The attitude we carry into the gym plays a massive role in what type of results we’re going to experience in our life.
I’ve heard a lot of people say that they don’t like going to the gym because they feel like everyone is looking at them and judging them. Would you be willing to bet with me that they’re looking at everyone and judging them as well?
If you find yourself…
- Constantly judging people…
- Saying a workout is too hard…
- Stopping workouts early because you’re bored…
- Skipping the gym because you don’t feel like going…
You have a weak negative attitude and more than likely won’t see any noteworthy results
-
But if you’re looking at everyone in the gym thinking thoughts like…
- “Good for him! Gotta start somewhere!”
- “She’s here all the time, that consistency is impressive!”
- “Nice! He’s looking great!”
-
If you’re fully immersed in your workouts, grateful for the fact that your body is able to perform a difficult task like this…
-
If you’re going above and beyond our workouts, adding in extra reps here and there just to really push yourself…
You have a strong positive attitude and will see a massive transformation in no time.
