Pain Is Not Temporary

One of the things I often hear people give as a piece of advice when someone is going through a rough patch is “Pain is temporary.”
But pain always keeps coming back.
All the time.
So pain is temporarily temporary?
I think at this point in my life what I can understand is that pain is a given in life.
It’s constant.
Life’s going to be difficult.
The people you love will die.
The ones you care about will hurt you.
Unfortunate shit is going to continue to happen.
And?
Rather than whine and complain, and focus on how much that sucks…
You can just sit with it.
Feel it, work with it, and allow yourself to experience every one of the emotions.
From anger to sadness, you just deal with it.
But notice the keyword in that last sentence..
YOU deal with it.
Now I’m not saying you can’t reach out to a friend or someone when you just need to talk.
I do it all the time.
But it is no one’s responsibility to solve your problems but yours.
Deal with it or deal with the consequences of letting those emotions control your energy exchange with the external world.
Right now in my life, things are pretty good.
I’m on a flight to Miami, going to spend some time with friends, get some work done with a client…
Really pumped about this greek restaurant we’re going to tonight, it looks amazing.
But as I sit here a mile in the sky, I know something to be true.
It’s coming.
Something, I don’t know what it is, will derail this train of happiness.
It’s inevitable.
I’m definitely not worrying about it, but I’m also not allowing myself to create the attachment to time being this good.
Because life is constantly changing.
Pain is constantly coming.
Why would you ignore a basic truth of our reality?
Because it helps you align your chakras and manifest your lucid dream states with your crystals?
Get the hell out of here.
I’m very woo-woo, I’m very spiritual.
But I will never allow my spirituality to let me ignore something as important as becoming a man capable of withstanding pain and suffering.
Ignoring breeds ignorance.
An ignorant man is of very little use to the world.
