Q&A - Part 1

Yesterday, I posted up a request for anonymous questions from you guys and I’m excited to say y’all did not disappoint.
Honestly, I got way more than I expected so I’m going to break this post up into two parts…
And with that being said, let’s dive into part 1.
Q: How do I develop an abundance mindset and manifest success in a new career (while doing the necessary work)?
A: I think that sometimes the easiest way to answer questions like this is to actually reverse it and then reverse it back. Here’s what I mean…
If you were to develop a scarcity mindset and manifest failure in a new career, what would you do?
You’d probably…
- Think negative thoughts constantly
- Always be worried about the future
- Complain constantly about how you don’t have enough
- Never take time to appreciate what you do have
- Convince yourself that you can’t have what you want in life
- Create a victim mentality for yourself
- And so on…
Now, here’s the thing…
Having an “abundance mindset and manifesting success” is literally just doing the opposite of that…
- Think positive thoughts constantly
- Always be excited about the future
- Constantly express how grateful you are for what you do have
- Appreciate what you do have
- Convince yourself that you can have what you want in life
- Create a “can-do” attitude for yourself
Most people when they think of abundance think of a future for them that’s filled with all types of expensive clothes, fun vacations, fast cars, and so on…
These are a form of abundance, but because you don’t have them currently, what do you communicate to your subconscious mind?
Scarcity.
So the weird trick with abundance is having the mentality right here and right now in this present moment, and then as a result, with enough hard work and determined action…
More and more of it comes your way.
Q: How did you make so much progress in just a few years?
A: I’m not sure if the person that asked this question has context, but I’ve been on this journey since I was 18 years old.
Obviously, they have good intentions by asking this, but I don’t want to understate the fact that I legit have been working on myself and working my face off for half a decade.
But if I were to narrow it down to a few things…
- Mentors
- Willingness to listen to mentors
- Investing in coaching
- Having a growth-orientated mindset
- Hard work
Q: What’s your advice for getting mentors?
A: Coaches charge you for their advice and guidance, and mentors do it for free, never get the two confused.
So then the question becomes, “How do I get someone who is wildly more successful than me to give me their guidance for free?”
First and foremost, I think you need to be a good human being. Someone that offers to give more than they take, and someone who is considerate of others as well.
Usually, the guys I know that are really successful aren’t too fond of takers and rude people who are extremely inconsiderate.
Second, you need to put yourself in an environment where mentors can present themselves to you.
Conferences, masterminds, networking mixers, rotary clubs, mason lounges, and so on…
If you want a very specific mentor in a very specific field, make your event selection a bit more niched down, but if you’re cool with learning from whoever, just send it wherever.
Also, don’t be afraid to just reach out to people.
I first got in contact with my mentor Ron because I read his book, found him on Facebook, and then asked if I could interview him.
But it was at the in-person events afterward where I was spending time with him that I was able to create the connection which had him take me under his wing.
Finally, just be interested in them and realize that there probably isn’t shit that you can say that they don’t already know, so just shut up, listen, and ask good questions.
And gifts, people love thoughtful gifts.
Q: What are you wearing?
A: Khakis?
Q: How would you recommend getting into the world of psychedelics responsibly?
A: I’ve only done acid and mushrooms, but I’ve done A LOT of it. I would say starting off with 2-3 grams of mushrooms is a great place to start, and then eventually working your way up to a 5-gram dose.
If you have a friend who’s experienced in psychs, ask if they’d be willing to do it with you or just be with you (trip-sit) so you have someone there. But only do it with people you genuinely really enjoy.
I also wouldn’t recommend doing it if you’ve had a recent traumatic event or something rough like a bad break up. I think the best time to do a trip is when you’re peaking in life, that way you really have an amazing time. I used to do trips to deal with my problems, and it works, but I wouldn’t recommend that to everyone, it can get dark.
Also, hot bath, cold showers, spa music, coconut water, and incense have been my jam lately on my last few trips. If you find something that really relaxes you and gives you a good time, remember what you did exactly and do it the next time too.
Q: Why do aliens only abduct cows?
A: Right?
Of all the animals out there, Aliens are like “The fuck is this thing? We must inspect it. I think it’s because cows are sacred animals and it’s because they have four stomachs, but hey what do I know? Your guess is as good as mine.
Okay and that wraps up part one of this Q&A post…
A lot of the other questions were about copywriting, which I will do a dedicated Q&A post for, and then some of the other ones were a bit more personal so I wanted a dedicated post for that one too.
I’ll be back with more tomorrow.
