Self-Sustaining Motivation

"The People Who Can Self-Motivate, In Any Field, Are Usually The Ones Who Win. Regardless of Talent."

- Tom Platz

Motivation used to feel like a rising and falling tide, it would come and it would go.

All of a sudden I go from this laser-focused beaming light of energy - centered, grounded, surging with purpose...

To this dark gloomy cloud that's just kind of drifting around.

And I'm sure you can relate to that, we've all been there.

But at a certain point, I wholeheartedly started to believe that I'm entirely in control of my motivation when I make the right decisions.

It became clear to me that I was feeling no motivation because of how much time I was spending distracting myself with "monkey habits"...

These "monkey habits" started off as something I would do when I was bored...

And then sooner or later they become a full-blown addiction taking up multiple hours of my week.

There were several of them, and I'm sure you have your own.

But the second I would cut these habits out...

My motivation would come surging back into my life.

I started to understand that motivation is just a form of energy.

Our natural mode of being is to...

  1. Create a goal

  2. Execute a plan

  3. Achieve the goal

  4. Repeat the cycle.

And when we keep our energy to ourselves and don't give it away to things that distract us, drain us, and waste our time...

It's only natural that we're motivated to achieve our goals.

We have so much potential energy that has to be used somewhere.

And when you can learn to channel that potential energy...

That's when you achieve a powerful, never-ending stream of self-motivation.

I’ve found that a lot of what keeps us fulfilled is the achievement of our goals otherwise known as the expansion of our life…

If we keep on expanding, we stay motivated.

And if we stay motivated, life is just so much more enjoyable.

Motivation doesn’t have to come and go, my friend.

Sometimes you just need an injection of it into your life to build some momentum with.
