Carnivore Aurelius Newsletter Emails (4/3)

Email 1 Subject Line: Ray Peat Type Beat Preview Line: my man On December 21, 1935, an absolute legend was born. You may or may not know him… But this man is responsible for a majority of the based nutrition and health content you’re viewing on a daily basis.[a] I’m talking about none other, than my man Ray Peat. Mr. Peat has contributed a ridiculous amount of information to the fields of nutrition, endocrinology, and aging. After dedicating his life to studying the human body and how to optimize nutrition and hormones for optimal health… He wrote several works which I personally view as the cornerstone of my personal nutrition philosophy. I remember an ignorant and younger version of me first reading his work… And being shocked at how he was promoting the EXACT opposite of mainstream health advice.[b] You’ve got no lack of “health experts” saying to eat your vegetables… But Ray Peat was one of the first to talk about how vegetables contain compounds that can be quite harmful to human health. He suggested that some vegetables, particularly those from the brassica family, such as broccoli, cauliflower, and kale… Contain something called goitrogens. Which turn you into a Goi-monster at night while you’re asleep. (Just kidding, but how do you know that’s not the case, you’re asleep) In all seriousness, Goitrogens can interfere with thyroid function and suppress the body's ability to absorb iodine. He even straight-up DISSED spinach because it contains oxalates… Which can contribute to the formation of kidney stones and may interfere with the body's ability to absorb calcium. Isn’t obvious that Popeye was just a psyop for the Big-Spinach conglomerates? Okay, no more silly takes…although that last one could have totally been a thing. One of the main points that Ray constantly harped on was that the Standard American Diet was a major contributor to chronic diseases… (Including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.) He believed that this was due to the overconsumption of processed foods, sugar, and unhealthy fats.[c] I wanted to give respect where it was due to Ray Peat because you have no lack of people saying they came up with XYZ health advice… But realistically pretty much everyone has to give credit to Ray Peat. Would highly recommend checking out these two books he wrote on nutrition: "Nutrition for Women" "Generative Energy: Restoring the Wholeness of Life"[d] Moo, Carnivore Aurelius Email 2 Subject Line: is your food fuel? Preview Line: Or is it just a bunch of hawt gawbage Talk about mitochondria, ATP, how food fuels that, all these energy hacks are kinda BS if you dont get this down Ever eaten something and felt totally energized? (Maybe you experienced a liver-high from our signature Liver Crisps? Which btw, those will be back in stock very soon! We sold out super quickly last time.) Well, if you’ve ever had that sudden rush of energy you can thank this little dude right here… No, that is not a potato with bacon inside of it. That is your Mitochondria. You may remember from high school biology your teacher consistently shoving down your throat the fact that… “The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.” While there was plenty that Mr. Johnson (your archetypal biology teacher) was wrong about… He was a straight shooter when it came to the mitochondria. So what do the little studs do? (did you get the potato joke? yes?) They are like little engines constantly firing in your cells to produce something called ATP. No, that does not stand for, “Alien Tender Pastries” that stands for “Adenosine Tri-Phosophate.” ATP is a special molecule that gives our cells energy to fuel our body. It's like a battery that powers all the things that our cells need to do in order for our body to work properly, like moving our muscles or thinking. A lot of people choose diets based on the external effects they’ll experience… (For instance, starting keto because of how easily you’ll be able to shed weight) But what they don’t take into account is the internal effects they’ll experience. You see, you could totally be eating keto… But if the food you’re eating is not easily digestible, such as, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, cheese, nuts, legumes, and seeds… You’re not fueling ATP production. You’re actually harming ATP production. Because if your body can’t easily digest it… Your cells will struggle to convert that nutrition source into ATP… And as a result, you’re going to feel a massive lack of energy. Your entire life will change when you stop viewing foods from a “fad diet” perspective… And instead think, “What food is actually going to fuel me and my cells?” Moo, Carnivore Aurelius Email 3 Subject Line: pooberries Preview Line: designed with total perfection Today, I would like to take a moment to talk about one of nature's most delicious and nutritious creations… Fruit. Have you ever stopped to think about why fruit exists? Why it comes in such a delightful array of colors, shapes, and sizes? Why it tastes so damn good? Well, let me tell you, my fellow based individual… Fruit is quite literally designed to be eaten. Yes, you read that correctly. The whole purpose of fruit is to be consumed by animals (including us humans) so that the seeds inside can be spread far and wide… Quite literally fruit’s #1 goal is to end up in your poop and be spread around. Yet, last time I checked, you weren’t doing your community a favor by dropping your pants at your local park, now were you? Just kidding, that’s illegal and you shouldn’t do that. Back to fruit-related information… The flesh of a fruit is sweet and juicy, practically begging to be eaten. The seeds, on the other hand, are often bitter or tough, making them less appealing to munch on. This isn’t by accident. By creating a tasty package around the seeds, it ensures that animals will eat them… And then scatter the seeds in their droppings, or simply by moving around. So, the next time you sink your teeth into a juicy peach or pop a plump grape into your mouth… Why not take a moment to remember that you are doing exactly what nature intended? You are helping to spread new life and growth, all while satisfying your taste buds. Fruit is not just a delicious snack - it's actually a pretty insane example of evolutionary design. So go ahead, indulge in some fruit today. Spread those seeds. You're doing your part to help Mother Nature do her thing. Moo, Carnivore Aurelius Email 4 Subject Line: bee-centered skincare Preview Line: n/a Have you ever heard of Bee-centered skincare? No? Well, that’s because it doesn’t exist and I just made it up. How’s that for a source? All jokes aside… Bees actually do have a correlation with healthy skin! As we all know, bees are essential pollinators that play a crucial role in maintaining the biodiversity of our planet… And they also are a part of one of the best movies ever, Bee Movie. But did you know that the honey, beeswax, and royal jelly they produce can benefit your skin? Honey is a natural humectant that can help to lock in moisture and prevent dryness. Beeswax, on the other hand, is a natural emollient that can soften and smooth the skin. And royal jelly, which is produced by worker bees and fed to the queen bee, contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that can nourish and protect the skin. So, while Bee-centered skin care may not be a real thing… The benefits to incorporating bee-derived ingredients into your skincare routine speak for themself. Lately, once a week, I lather honey on my face and leave it there for 10 mins. As a result, my skin is smoother… My bench press has gone up… My IQ score is 16 points higher… And I found $13 on the ground the other day. Coincidence? I think not. Moo, Carnivore Aurelius [a]i would change this to something like behind the scenes he's responsible for many of current health trends you're reading about today like anti seed oils, pro beef liver, anti birth control [b]ray didn't really focus too much onvegetables tbh. it may be worth mentioning the goitrogens, but his main focus was the benefit of carbohydrates for energy production, specificially easily digestible carbs...the importance of thyroid, the danger of seed oils, estrogen as a shock hormone not the female hormone and the necessity of liver & organ meats [c]mainly because of lack of nutrients and seed oils not because of sugar [d]AMAZON LINKS
