Email 1 Subject Line: “growth partners” Preview Line: here we go again… If Pizza Hut rolled out a brand new product called “cheese sauce bread circles”... Would you think that it’s different from pizza? Probably not. But here’s the thing, most of you guys fall for this shit with all sorts of different marketing schemes especially in the world of coaching programs. For example, agencies that do a revenue share deal with clients have been around since day 1. But people see it with a fancy mechanism name slapped on it and all of a sudden you got guys looking like… Some of you may not understand Mechansims, so let me break it down for you… Mechanisms are useful in a market where everyone is competing on claims. “I’ll make you a 2 to 1 return on ads” And then the competitor goes… “I’ll make you a 3 to 1 return on ads” And then the other competitor goes… “I’ll make you a 4 to 1 return on ads” So when a market starts competing on claims, you introduce a mechanism name to separate yourself from everyone. If you’ve seen Mad Men you probably remember the episode talking about cigarettes and saying “It’s toasted” So in the case of running ads you would say… “Our efficiency-based ad targeting system will get you a 2 to 1 return on ads and decrease the amount of time for you to find a winning ad by 30%” Once you present that to the market, you’re in a category of one. But inevitably what you’ll see is a competitor start saying… “Our laser-blitz ad targeting system will get you a 3 to 1 return on ads and increase your profitability by 50% or you don’t pay” So this is the cycle that continues on and on in literally every single market. Most people are completely unaware of what’s going on. It’s kind of like someone watching the news that is clueless to the fact that they’re being manipulated. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Want to know the only way to get around this inevitable shit cycle? Read my email tomorrow. - Daniel @ Client Ascension Email 2 Subject Line: mechanism mayhem Preview Line: Here’s how to avoid the BS In my last email I discussed mechanisms and how they develop as market competition grows. And what I wanted to talk about today was how to properly think about mechanisms and marketing your service… Is a mechanism useful? Yes. But you know what’s infinitely more important? Results. I have seen some dudes change their mechanism 3 or 4 times without ever once posting a case study or testimonial. Like my guy… The mechanism isn’t preventing you from getting customers… IT’S THE FACT THAT YOUR SHIT SUCKS! Here’s what I would do instead if I was starting from scratch… Find the answers to the following questions: 1. What niche are you serving? 2. What specific problem do you solve for this niche? 3. How has this niche already tried to solve this problem? 4. What have they not tried? 5. What is the dream scenario of this client? 6. What is stopping them from achieving this scenario? 7. What unique and different ways can you help them achieve this scenario? Answer those 7 questions, and then create an elevator pitch on how you solve the problem at hand. It should be quick, to the point, and unique enough to create the following frame for the client: “99% of what you’ve tried hasn’t worked. But here’s the 1% you haven’t tried and here’s why it works.” An example of this would be for short form content… “You know how all these short form content guys promise 60 pieces of content a month for only 2 hours of your time? (Yes) Yeah, instead of recording low quality content over zoom or riverside, I send a local film crew to your house to help film all of that content and record long form youtube videos so we can get an entire month’s worth of high quality short and long form content done in an afternoon.” Are the deliverables any different? Not really. BUT THE WAY WE ACHIEVE THE RESULT IS WHAT’S DIFFERENT. Holy fucking shit if you could drill anything into your head it’s that. When the market is crowded you don’t just rename what you’re doing with a fancy system or blueprint to stand out. People aren’t stupid. Change the WAY you offer the service so you can create a category of one offer… And THIS is how you get results. If what everyone is trying isn’t working… Why in the FUCK would you just do the same thing and rename it? Dumb. - Daniel @ Client Ascension Email 3 Hello my friend, I’ve sent out a few emails this week about mechanisms and how they work. I think that everyone believes that a mechanism needs to be something like a system or a blueprint… * The Laser Ads Targeting System * The Cold Outreach Blueprint * The Streamlined Content System * Etc. Yes, technically these are mechanisms. But I really need to explain this because most people mess this up so often that it’s comical. A mechanism is simply HOW you help someone achieve something different from everything else out there. Can you give it a fancy pants name? Yeah. But this actually doesn’t work for every single audience out there. If you were to use something like that on me, I would immediately ignore you. Why? I’m a sophisticated audience, meaning I have seen A LOT of different ads and offers. If you’re dealing with a sophisticated audience… - Coaches - Ecom stores - Marketers It’s best to just say how the hell you do what you do and stick with that. So instead of… “We will book you 30 meetings a month using our O.S.E. lead generation system” I would rather you say… “We will book you 30 meetings a month by implementing our outbound outreach system on your social media and email list, or you don’t pay” See how that works? People will tell you “ohhhh but you’re missing out on the curiosity!1!!1!!” Motherfucker, do you think I look at “O.S.E. System” and think, “What is that?” Or do I look at that and go, “That’s some mechanism, I don’t have time for this right now.” You just telling me how you do outbound on social media and my email list is IMMEDIATELY more interesting to me. Because what I think is, “oh that’s interesting I haven’t done that yet.“ SEE WHAT I MEAN? THATS WHAT YOU WANT. When you know how to present a mechanism properly, you’ll always be paid. - Daniel @ Client Ascension Email 4 Subject Line: want this? Preview Line: not for poor people Want to hop in a time machine?
