Monday Email Subject Line: WORST NICHE Preview Line: Don’t make this mistake… Hello Friends, The other week we switched things up from our normal interview back and forth. Normally, we do a list of topics to discuss… Various different questions on a bunch of different topics in the world of agencies and making MONEY. But in this episode, we went a bit of a different route… Instead, we focused on ONE topic. Which was who you should NEVER sell products to… Seriously, this specific market that we discussed in the video is quite literally one of the most frustrating and annoying markets to deal with. My co-host Nick, spent the previous 4ish months working with them and from his own experience he can agree… YOU SHOULDN’T WORK WITH BEGINNERS. And this is Nick’s opinion after making $65k launching an offer to this market. So rather than me explain this to you with some abstraction or different examples and metaphors… You can find out WHY this market is the worst market to work with by listening to the conversation Nick and I had about his experience with this market. Check it out below: >> Click here to listen to the interview about the WORST market to sell to - Daniel @ Client Ascension Tuesday Email Subject Line: Oh so you want new clients? Preview Line: This is pretty much non-negotiable Want new clients for your agency? Of course you do, everyone wants that. But here’s the thing almost NO ONE talks about… Getting clients and keeping clients are two very different aspects of your business. This week, I’m going to be giving different takes on the various ways to bring on new clients… But before we dive into that, I want to first focus on the difference between these two areas of your service-based business. Here’s the questions you should ask yourself: * How many case studies do I have to prove that I can get results? * How many happy client testimonials do I have? * How often are my current clients telling me they’re extremely satisfied? * How long do clients stay with me for? * How many refund requests have I gotten in the past year? If you don’t have a good handful of case studies… If you don’t have any happy client testimonials… If your clients don’t really give a shit about your service… If they only stick with you for their contractually obligated term… And if you frequently have upset or unhappy clients… Chances are, you have no business bringing on new clients… You have a serious fulfillment issue. You MUST fix this before you set your sights on a new roster of clients. Guys, not only is it a whole lot harder to sell services when you don’t have testimonials and case studies… But why in the hell should someone pay you if there’s no proof that you’re any good at what you do? If you have a commodity based business and you pump out shitty results for clients… Again, why should anyone pay you? So this week we’re going to be talking about a few different forms of client acquisition… But I have to stress this up front because it’s inevitable some of you guys will miss this… THE BEST CLIENT ACQUISITION STRATEGY IS TO HAVE AN AMAZING SERVICE. That’s it. Nothing more to it. - Daniel @ Client Ascension Wednesday Email Subject Line: two cold email mistakes Preview Line: mess this up and u r literally poor If you see someone on Twitter talking about cold email… Chances are they learned what they're teaching, from me. I've worked with so many different types of businesses trying to use cold email to bring in new business. Some businesses were massively successful… Others were a complete and total failure. In this email, I’m going to share with you 2 pre-requisites to any successful cold email campaign. Everyone wants to jump immediately to the systems like… “What cold email software should I use?” “Where should I scrape leads?” “How many domains do I need?” “How should I follow up?” Etc. My guy… These are all tactics and they are completely irrelevant if you don't have two things completely dialed in: 1. Your SPECIFIC audience 2. Your SPECIFIC offer You could have the best cold email systems in the world… With emails landing in everyone's primary inbox… But if you don't have an offer that makes someone go “Oh fuck yeah I need that”... Nothing will work. I just saw an Alex Becker video where he said… “You’re either helping someone bring in more revenue or reduce an unnecessary loss of revenue.” You need to position your service to… 1. Make the client money 2. Help the client save money If you sell productivity coaching and systems for entrepreneurs you can't just tell them, “Hey I'll help you be more productive!” They don't give a shit about that But if you hit them up and say, “Hey I created a productivity system specific for coaches that helps them win back 10 to 15 hours a week and prevent them from wasting unnecessary time” Now you're speaking their language… Because time equals money. So before you send a single cold email… Before you set up any domains… Before you scrape any leads… You must have an offer that is completely dialed in with your target audience. Which brings me to my next point… Before you start any cold email campaign, you need to know specifically WHO you are targeting. People will just say a broad statement like, “I go after SAAS companies” But there's a lot of different types of SAAS companies… B2B or B2C? 1-5 employees or 20-30 employees? What revenue mark are they at? This is what you guys need to really understand… The more specific your offer is to your specific audience… The higher likelihood they will respond to you and your cold email. Think about things from the perspective of the person you are cold emailing… If you can get their contact information that means tons of other people have their contact information and they're also hitting them up. But almost nobody ACTUALLY takes the time to craft a specific offer to a specific audience… This is why most people seem no results from cold email… I promise you that messing up the technical side of things is way less likely than messing up the offer and the audience. - Daniel @ Client Ascension Thursday Email Subject line: neuromint referrals Preview line: n/a The easiest sales calls to close are referrals. You have a third party endorsement… They have a need that needs to be filled… It’s easy af. But hardly anyone gets actual client referral business. And there’s a few different reasons WHY that’s the case: 1. Youre not asking for referrals 2. Your service is not good enough to warrant a referral 3. You don’t have any referral partners in place If you have a good service and get good results for clients… JUST ASK FOR THE REFERRAL. Create a referral offer that you can put in front of your clients that makes them actually want to send you business… People will send like $100 or a small little dinky gift to people that send them referrals… DUMB If I have business to send you, what do you think would make me want to keep sending you business… A little basket of chocolates or $1,000? Probably the $1,000. Now, that's not to say that gifts for clients like a basket of chocolates don't go unnoticed… People love that shit. But if you're charging, let's just call it $5,000 for your service, and I'm one of your clients… And I send you one of my friends as a client and you close them for the same service… And then you send me a book and a thank you card… Immediately, all I'm thinking is I just gave this guy $5,000 and he gave me a $50 gift There is no way to avoid this, people will always be thinking this. I think a really good practice is to do a 10% referral fee of whatever you close. And if you have a recurring service, just give them a recurring referral fee… When you position it as, “Hey I can literally pay your rent if you send me three clients”... people are more likely to send you business. Duh. But again, you have no business asking for referrals if your service actually doesn't get results for someone… The way you know you have a really good service is when you don't even need to ask people for referrals they just send their friends to you because they love your stuff. I was talking about this with a friend the other day… One of the memes of Money Twitter is the brand Neuromints… After buying the product and using it for 2 days, my friends was telling all of his friends about it, posting about it, and even giving the mints to random people at his local coffee shop. Why am I telling you that? Your goal should be to have a service that is so good, that your clients want to talk about you all the time…just like neuromints. At networking events, at masterminds, on their newsletter, on their social media, with their friends… Ask yourself that question first, if I had to make a service that was so good my clients could not stop talking about it, what would I need to deliver? Don't overthink this… Results are the main thing, above all else. And the last reason why most people don't get referrals is because they don’t have referral partners in place. So let's say that you do email marketing for ecom brands… It is in your best interest to meet people that run ads for ecom brands… People that do product photography for ecom brands… People that do landing page build-outs for ecom brands… So on and so forth. Everybody that works with clients is constantly looking for a way to be able to provide a better experience and get better results for their clients… (Everyone with half a brain at least) And with our ecom brand example let's just say someone's running ads for them… If they're on a revenue share deal, they have every incentive in the world to bring you in on that deal if the client is not doing e-com email properly. Easy source of referrals. - Daniel @ Client Ascension Friday Email Subject Line: now or never Preview Line: ??? This week we've been talking about client acquisition… I talked about the what you need to have in place before you even take on a new client… I talked about the 2 make-or-break factors for cold email… And yesterday I talked about how to get referrals… Today, I want to talk about landing clients through organic and social media. People use the word brand as a fancy buzzword but a lot of people don’t even understand WHAT a brand is. Branding is not a colorful logo and cool website… Branding is association of one thing with the business at hand. When you think of cold email, you think of me. When you think of electric cars, you think of Tesla. When you think of closers, you think of Cole Gordon. When you think of SMMA, you think of Iman Gadzhi. When you think of Bugattis, you think of Tate. These are just a lot of different examples, but I really want to solidify this for you because this is so important and SO MANY guys mess this up… Whatever it is that you offer as a service, you build a brand that then Associates you with that service. So if you do Facebook ads for e-commerce businesses… Your goal with your brand is to have it so when someone thinks e-commerce ads for Facebook, you are one of the first people that pops up in their head. So how do you do that? Talk a shit ton about Facebook ads for e-commerce brands. Tweet about it constantly. Post about it religiously on Instagram and Linkedin. Publish videos of you reviewing e-commerce ads on Facebook and talk about why they worked and why they didn't work. Highlight case studies about your work with clients. Post video tutorials of you building out e-commerce campaigns on Facebook. Create threads on Twitter discussing the five things that you notice all successful e-commerce brands have that do well on Facebook. My friend, if you just sat down and thought about this for an hour you could have a dozen plus topics ready to go. But chances are, if you're like most people, you don't really have experience with branding and creating a popping personal brand. This is one of the many benefits that comes with you joining Client Ascension… We literally have expert coaches on our team to help you with this Both Nick Rogers and Logan Fitz, two guys you may know from Twitter, have weekly calls with the members of Client Ascension to help them grow organic brands… And on top of that, Dakota Robertson talks about Twitter growth every week, but the concepts he's talking about are universal to all platforms.
