This call is designed to answer whatever questions you have about becoming a Growth Writer and make sure this whole thing is as streamlined as possible for you. Because I don't want this to just accumulate digital dust. I don't want this to be another thing you bought and never did anything with. I want this to be something you actually take action on so you can see real results So the masterclass is on its way to your email right now. Usually takes about five to ten minutes, depends on your email settings, but while you're waiting—go ahead and book your onboarding call below now. There's a calendar right below this video. Find a time that works for you, fill out your info, and lock it in. Now here's the other thing. When you show up for that call, I'm unlocking three bonus mini courses for you… The first one is the Scaling Secrets mini-course. This is interviews with three Growth Writers who scaled to six figures per month. I sat down with them, got them to tell me everything—what they did, how they did it, all the stuff that actually worked for them. This is super valuable if you want to see what's possible with this. The second mini course is Full Stack Focus. This is my system for getting ten times the output with the same amount of time. It shows you how to create deep focus, how to structure the tasks you have to accomplish and it even gives you a Notion board to make everything in your life way more organized and efficient. If you feel like you're always busy but never getting anywhere, this fixes that. The third mini course is called Growth Mindset. This is all about how to actually follow through. How to stay consistent. How to shift your identity from where you are now into the person who is getting results as a Growth Writer. Because the tactics don't matter if you don't execute. These are bonuses I normally include inside of our higher end programs for coaching members, but I'm throwing them in for free because I want to see you win. All you gotta do is book the call and show up. So, click below, book your onboarding call, and watch your inbox for the masterclass. Talk soon. All the best. Bye. I’d Like To Introduce You To A Brand New Type Of Freelance Writing Called, "Growth Writing" On this page, I’d like to cover a few things with you… * What business owners in 2026 ACTUALLY want to buy from freelance writers and how you can be the “shining light” that actually speaks to their problems and needs, making it a no-brainer to hop on a call with you… * The one positioning shift that makes it easy to charge $3,000 to $5,000 per month from a single client (not per project, per month)... * And to wrap things up, I’m going to show you how A.I. can help you handle 80% of the "grunt work" to get these clients so sales doesn’t feel like a burden and instead, something easy and simple. I’ve helped hundreds of freelance writers implement this methodology… People who weren’t sure why they were only able to bill clients $500 (at most) for their work… But are now accepting clients at premium rates, starting at $36,000 a year… All because they made the one shift I’m going to share with you on this page. You may not know me yet, and you have every right to be skeptical of a random page on the internet telling you about a way you can make money online… I promise you that if you’re someone who likes the idea of being able to make a living as a writer, and you’ve looked into things like Copywriting or Ghostwriting… This is going to be extremely useful for you to see HOW the business actually works… Let me show you some proof to back up what I’m saying/ I’d Like To Share With You Some Of My Craziest Case Studies Of Growth Writing Changing The Financial Future Of People Just Like You… There’s people like Taylin, who had ZERO prior business experience yet was able to take this model and build himself up to the point where he’s now making $501,000 (roughly $41k per month) as a growth writer for personal brands (he got to $20k per month while still working a full-time job before he quit)... There’s also people like Clifton, who took the Growth Writing model, scaled up to $30k per month solo and then eventually decided to turn his business into an agency. He’s now making making over $1M a year while spending more time with his kids, and he is currently building their forever home in Alabama. And Anthony Carlton, a financial planner who was sick and tired of his job. He took the Growth Writing Model and within 1 year, he was able to scale up to $91,000 a month while building a lean team around him to help him grow. Are these normal results? No. Like I said, I intentionally showed you the craziest ones up front. I wanted to show you these 3 stories because I want you to see what’s possible with Growth Writing… All of these individuals had a similar path. They started Growth Writing out as solo freelancers, started making around $10,000 to $20,000 a month… And then they decided to start scaling up by hiring people to help them fulfill on the work. You could follow their path and build a business that can scale up to 7 figures per year, or you could cruise at $10,000 to $20,000 a month and use this model as a lifestyle business. That’s the beauty of Growth Writing, it’s very flexible. My Name Is Dakota Robertson And I Was The First Person Who Popularized “Ghostwriting” When I first got into freelance writing, I was struggling, scraping by, and trying to figure out how to turn "writing" into an actual income. I had just quit my job in the oil fields of Canada, and I was willing to do anything to not have to go back. It Got A Wee Bit Cold While Working In The Oil Fields… I sent cold emails that got ignored and I pitched clients who ghosted me and I took on projects that paid embarrassingly little just to get "experience." But I knew this could work, so I kept persisting to figure it out. Eventually, I discovered one fact that changed everything for me: The way you position yourself matters more than how good your writing is. I stumbled across an article about the rapper Drake and how he was paying ghostwriters $50,000 to $100,000 per song… These "ghostwriters" were the secret weapon behind his grammy-winning hits. The same thing was happening in the book world. I started digging and discovered this massive hidden industry of ghostwriters who wrote books for CEOs, celebrities, and thought leaders. These writers were charging $50,000... $100,000... even $250,000 to write a single book. And nobody knew their names. They didn't need to be famous. They didn't need a personal brand. They didn't need followers. They just needed to be good at capturing someone else's voice and ideas... and packaging it into something that made the client look brilliant. I Remember Sitting There Thinking, "Why Can't This Exist For Online Content?" Right now we exist in the era of the personal brand, which is why business owners are trying to build their personal brands on LinkedIn, Twitter, Email Newsletters… As a freelance writer, this is actually the BEST way to sell your services because there’s a lot of demand for content. Business owners know they need to be putting out content. They know it's how you build trust, generate leads, and stay relevant in 2026. But they don't have time to do it themselves, or they just don’t enjoy it. Most of them are running companies, managing teams, closing deals…and the last thing they want to do is spend three hours every day writing posts and emails. I stopped calling myself a "freelance writer." and I stopped positioning myself as someone who "creates content." And I started positioning myself as something different entirely: A Ghostwriter for Founders. That one shift changed my entire trajectory, because I was different from all the competition out there, and that decision completely changed my life. I built an agency that scaled to $100,000 per month…I grew my personal brand to 500,000 followers and subscribers…And I was able to do all of this while fulfilling my dreams of traveling the world while working from a laptop. I became the Ghostwriting guy for people looking to grow their personal brands. And for a while, everything was great… I Was Seeing Such Great Results, And Tons Of People Were Asking Me How I Was Doing It. I’m an entrepreneur and when the market is demanding something, either you fill that demand, or someone else will. So I decided to launch the first ever coaching cohort for ghostwriting. I accepted a small group of 35 writers into a 12 week intensive showing them how to do what I was doing. We saw INSANE results from the first group of people… INSERT TESTIMONIALS[a] And of course, people who had never signed a real client before started copying me. These fake gurus saw the level of demand the market had for this so they started launching their own course and coaching programs teaching others how to do it. I was pissed because this was my thing, they had practically ZERO experience and were copying me. I got in contact with a lawyer to see if there was anything I could do about it and he said I was out of luck because at the time, I hadn’t trademarked anything. I Decided To Ignore The Competition And Just Focus On My Members And Getting The Best Results I Possibly Could For Them… I launched 2 more cohorts until I realized something was seriously wrong. Cohort number two had 65 different freelance writers… The results were consistent like the first cohort, but I noticed on average it was taking longer for the cohort members to sign clients. I didn’t think anything of it, and waited about 6 months before I opened up the next cohort. Cohort number three had 75 different freelance writers. And then I saw it, the results were slowing down even more. It wasn’t because my students were less talented, all of these people were totally capable… And my training hadn’t changed at all, but it was obvious that there was something slowing down the members of the cohort. The strategies that had worked so well for me and my initial cohort, the same ones I was teaching… And it wasn't that they stopped working entirely. But the results weren't as consistent. The wins weren't as easy… And I started to feel like a fraud. Not because I was lying, or posting photos with Lamborghinis, Rolexes, and models… My Clearly Fake Alter Ego, Rakota Dobertson III, Certified Guru And Lifestyle Enjoyer… Everything I taught was real and had worked for me and hundreds of people over just the last 18 months before my realization… It just felt like the ground beneath my feet was shifting, and I didn't have a map for where it was heading. I Decided To Ask The Most Experienced And Successful Freelance Writer Who I Knew What The Hell Was Going On In The Market… I'm keeping him anonymous on this page because he's requested it. I’m just going to call him Mr. X for the purpose of this story. You likely know him if you’ve been in the space for any amount of time… He's been a freelance writer for almost a decade, he charges anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000 for his work, and he’s produced close to $100,000,000 for his clients. I met him at an event awhile back and always felt like he had a perspective on this industry that nobody else did. When he told me about the names he had ghostwritten for (names you would definitely know if you’re on social media at all), I was blown away at how low key this guy was about his results. So when I started feeling like something was broken and I couldn't figure out what… He was the person I reached out to, because I thought… “Maybe he will know what’s going on.” My Phone Call With Mr. X Completely Changed The Way I Thought About The Market Of Ghostwriting… I told him in what probably sounded like a hopeless tone… "Look, I've built this whole thing around ghostwriting. It worked. But something feels off now and I can't explain it. What am I missing?" And he asked me… “When did you launch the first cohort?” “The start of 2023.” “And when did you launch the second cohort?” “End of 2023.” “The third cohort?” “Middle of 2024.” “What happened during that time? Do you know?” I sat there for a second, feeling like an idiot. "ChatGPT," he said flatly. "November 2022. OpenAI released ChatGPT to the public." Of course. How did I miss that? "Let me explain something to you," Mr. X continued. "Have you ever heard of the technology adoption curve?" What He Showed Me Next Made Me Feel Like An Idiot For Not Seeing It Sooner… He said, “One second I’ll send you a picture”... Then this image popped up in our texts… "Every new technology follows the same pattern," he explained. "First you have the Innovators, the minority of people who are basically mad scientists. They'll try anything new just because it's new. Then you have the Early Adopters, these are the people who see the potential early and jump in while everyone else is still skeptical." "You launched right at the beginning of the Early Adopter phase. At that point, only tech nerds and curious people were playing with ChatGPT. Most business owners had never even heard of it." I was tracking but wasn’t totally clear yet, "Okay, I think I understand" I said. "So where does this connect to Ghostwriting?" "So in the beginning of 2023," he continued, "Ghostwriting was still valuable because business owners didn't have time to write content themselves. They didn't know how to write well. And even if they wanted to learn, there was a massive learning curve.” That made a ton of sense, I was starting to see what he was talking about. Then he said, "By mid-2023, we had moved into the Early Majority. ChatGPT had gone viral. Everyone was talking about it. But in 2023, the tech was still clunky. The quality wasn't great. It sounded like a robot. So there was still a gap in the market for skilled writers who could either use AI as a tool or just write better than AI could." "That's why my second cohort still got results," I said, "but they weren’t as fast as the first cohort.” "Exactly. The value proposition was starting to erode, but it wasn't dead yet. Business owners were experimenting with ChatGPT but getting frustrated with the output. They still saw value in hiring someone who could do it better." I was shocked at how much sense this guy was making, he was putting words to what I couldn’t! "By 2024, we hit the Late Majority phase. And this is where the technology got dramatically better. GPT-4 came out. Claude came out. The outputs went from 'obviously AI' to 'genuinely good.'This is when Business owners who had been skeptical finally started using it themselves. And they realized something…" "What?" And his next words hit me like a punch in the gut. "By 2024, Business Owners Realized They Don't Need To Hire Someone To Write For Them Anymore." "Think about it from their perspective. Why would they pay a ghostwriter $3,000 a month when they have the world's greatest writer in their pocket? An AI that doesn't get tired. It isn't juggling multiple clients. That can write in their voice after being trained on their previous content. That delivers in seconds instead of a week-long turnaround time." Everything clicked. The slowing results. The increasing objections from prospects. The feeling that something was off even though me and my students were doing everything "right." But then a new question formed in my mind… "Okay," I said. "So what do we do now?" Mr. X didn't hesitate. "You have to stop selling writing. Nobody wants to buy writing anymore. They don't view it as valuable. Not the way they used to." I felt a wave of resistance. Writing was my thing. It was what I'd built my entire identity around. "So what do we sell then?" "Growth." He said it like it was obvious. "People only care about results. They either want to grow their business or they want to grow their personal brand. That's it. Those are the only two things they'll pay real money for." "Okay, but…" I hesitated. "Do I have to completely change what I'm doing? Do I need to go learn growth marketing or funnel building or something totally different?" He Made It Clear That We Didn’t Even Have To Learn Any New Skills, We Just Needed To Change The Way We Were Selling Them… "No dude. Nothing about what writers do for clients has changed in the last 50 to 70 years. Only the medium has changed. It’s all just persuasion. Understanding human psychology. Building authority. Creating content that drives action. All of that is exactly the same." "So what changes?" "The way you sell it. The positioning. You can’t call yourself a 'ghostwriter' anymore because that title now sounds like something AI can do. You need to sell the result of more followers, more leads, more revenue, not 'I'll write 12 LinkedIn posts for you this month.'" I sat back in my chair, processing, "So the skill set is the same…?” "The skill set is still Ghostwriting. The strategy is the exact same as Ghostwriting. The deliverables are the same as Ghostwriting. But you can’t call it Ghostwriting to prospective clients. They don’t want that, so instead you position yourself as a “Growth Writer” or something like that.” “Growth Writer…I like that.” For the first time in months, I felt like I had solid ground beneath my feet again. Not because the market had gone back to the way it was…it hadn't, and it never would be the same. But because I finally understood where it was going. And more importantly… I knew how to get ahead of it. And that’s what brings us here today. Introducing… The Growth Writer Shift How To Turn Your Freelance Writing From A “Nice To Have” Into A “Need To Have” That Business Owners Will Happily Pay $3,000-$5,000 Per Month For… I first tested Mr. X’s strategy with some of my members and immediately saw how well it was working. I took my frameworks I had already been teaching my cohort members… But I just told everyone to change their positioning to focus on selling Growth not on selling, “Ghostwriting.” Everyone gave me such amazing feedback on the material I put together, that I decided to make it a standalone product. We saw INSANE results from the first group of people… INSERT TESTIMONIALS And of course, people who had never signed a real client before started copying me. X Completely Changed The Way I Thought About The Market Of Ghostwriting… Now, this is obviously a reenactment of that phone call I don’t just record my phone calls with my friends, but this is pretty much what happened, I told him…"Look, I've built this whole thing around ghostwriting. It worked. But something feels off now and I can't explain it. What am I missing?" “When did you launch the first cohort?” “The start of 2023.” “And when did you launch the second cohort?” “Middle of 2023.” “The fourth cohort?” “The start of 2024.” “What happened during that time? Do you know?” “No?” "ChatGPT, November 2022. OpenAI released ChatGPT to the public." “Oh yeah…” "Let me explain something to you, have you ever heard of the technology adoption curve?" “No?” Then this image popped up in our texts… "Every new technology follows the same pattern, first you have the Innovators, the minority of people who are basically mad scientists. They'll try anything new just because it's new. Then you have the Early Adopters, these are the people who see the potential early and jump in while everyone else is still skeptical. You launched right at the beginning of the Early Adopter phase. At that point, only tech nerds and curious people were playing with ChatGPT. Most business owners had never even heard of it." “Okay, I think I understand, so where does this connect to Ghostwriting?" "So in the beginning of 2023, Ghostwriting was still valuable because business owners didn't have time to write content themselves. They didn't know how to write well. And even if they wanted to learn, there was a massive learning curve. By mid-2023, we had moved into the Early Majority. ChatGPT had gone viral. Everyone was talking about it. But in 2023, the tech was still clunky. The quality wasn't great. It sounded like a robot. So there was still a gap in the market for skilled writers who could either use AI as a tool or just write better than AI could." "That's why my second cohort still got results, but they weren’t as fast as the first cohort.” "Exactly. The value proposition was starting to erode, but it wasn't dead yet. Business owners were experimenting with ChatGPT but getting frustrated with the output. They still saw value in hiring someone who could do it better. By 2024, we hit the Late Majority phase. And this is where the technology got dramatically better. GPT-4 came out. Claude came out. The outputs went from 'obviously AI' to 'genuinely good.'This is when Business owners who had been skeptical finally started using it themselves. And they realized something…" "What?" "Well By 2024, Business Owners Realized They Don't Need To Hire Someone To Write For Them Anymore. Think about it from their perspective. Why would they pay a ghostwriter $3,000 a month when they have the world's greatest writer in their pocket? An AI that doesn't get tired. It isn't juggling multiple clients. That can write in their voice after being trained on their previous content. That delivers in seconds instead of a week-long turnaround time." "Okay, so what do we do now?" "You have to stop selling writing. Nobody wants to buy writing anymore. They don't view it as valuable. Not the way they used to." "So what do we sell then?" "Growth. People only care about results. They either want to grow their business or they want to grow their personal brand. That's it. Those are the only two things they'll pay real money for." "Okay, but…Do I have to completely change what I'm doing? Do I need to go learn growth marketing or funnel building or something totally different?" "No dude. You need to sell the result of more followers, more leads, more revenue, not 'I'll write 12 LinkedIn posts for you this month.'" "So the skill set is the same…?” "The skill set is still Ghostwriting. Sales Companion The positioning & sales masterclass shows you how to separate yourself from the competition and how to find qualified prospects to reach out to, but most writers struggle to actually take action. This AI tool is going to be your best friend making sales extremely easy and removing a lot of the “grunt work” involved in getting clients… Here’s what you can do with it: * Instant personalized outreach – Just drop in a link to the prospect's website and it generates a first message that's actually catered to them, sounds human, hits the right notes, and gets responses. * Follow-up sequence generator – Paste in your conversation thread and it writes natural follow-ups that keep momentum going without sounding desperate or robotic. No more staring at your inbox wondering "what do I say now?" * Free work generator – Tell it about the prospect and it creates a small, valuable deliverable you can send over as a foot in the door. Something that demonstrates your thinking and opens the sales conversation without you having to "pitch." * Rate and scope calculator – Describe what the prospect is asking for and it helps you think through pricing, define scope boundaries, and figure out how to present your offer without undercharging yourself or scaring them off. * "What do I even say?" mode – For those moments when you're staring at a message and drawing a complete blank, just describe the situation and it gives you a few angle options to choose from. Like having a sharp friend on call who's good at this stuff. This is just scratching the surface. You've seen how the market has changed. You've seen why selling writing doesn't work like it used to. You've seen what does work, and exactly how to do it. All that's left is to take action. I hope to see you inside. All The Best, Dakota Alright, welcome guys to the Growth Writer Shift. Today, I’m going to be showing you how to position yourself as a Growth Writer and stack three to five clients to make anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 per month, and how to automate 70% of the work with AI. Don’t worry about taking notes, I’ve already done that for you and sent it to your email with The Growth Writing Playbook. All you need to do is pay attention to what I’m about to share with you. Turn off your phone, unless you’re watching this on your phone...that would be kind of dumb. Just forget about social media for a bit, I promise your unemployed friend sending you their 7th reel for the day can wait. Ignore your children or partner, they’re just a distraction to your success and you should abandon them anyways. Just kidding, don’t do that. We’re going to focus on how to go about positioning yourself as a Growth Writer, what services you need to sell, how to find prospects to reach out to, how to reach out to them and get them on a call, and how to close them for $3,000 to $5,000 a pop. But we’re also going to talk about how to go about keeping clients... If you’re like most people who’ve worked with us here at Growth Ghost, you like the freelancing business model because it gives you freedom. Location freedom so you can work from wherever in the world with a laptop and wifi. Time freedom so you can work on your schedule with your routine of choice. And financial freedom so you can make as much as you want depending on how much you work. When freelancers get these 3 types of freedom, some of them want to travel, some of them want to be able to spend more time with their family, others just want to pursue the hobbies that interest them. Regardless of which bucket you fall into, it’s never fun to suddenly lose two clients and drop from $10,000 a month to $3,000. That’s rough. So that’s why today we’re going to focus on both getting clients AND keeping clients, and yes, AI can help a lot with that. AI is not going to replace you, but someone who knows how to use AI will. So it’s important you understand how it works, but it’s also important that you don’t get a neurolink chip in your brain. That’s the new world order, and here at Growth Ghost we do not support the transhumanist agenda. We're a small business, we can't afford to fight the Illuminati. That's above our pay grade. But we do support using AI as a tool to make you faster, more efficient, and more valuable to your clients. There's a big difference. And everything I'm about to show you is not theory. These are the exact tactics and strategies w Or busy parents who quit their job and scale to $1M a year, like Clifton. Or full-time music teachers scale to $500k a year while working their job, like Taylin. Or even financial planners go from 0 to $91,000 a month, like Anthony. So my goal today is to lay out the entire process for you that we teach at Growth Ghost, so you can either go implement this on your own... Or if you want our tools, our support, our coaching and guidance along the way, there’s a button below where you can book a call with us to learn more about joining Growth Ghost. But I’m not trying to turn this into a long-winded sales pitch, I’d rather just give you everything you need and let you decide if you want to work with us. So, let’s dive in, starting with... What the fuck is a growth writer? A Growth Writer is someone who helps businesses grow through strategic content. You do this as a ghostwriter, meaning you write for the person behind the scenes as if you are them, and they get the credit. But here’s the thing... Most business owners associate a ghostwriter with books and music, so if you tell a business owner, “I’m a ghostwriter” they’re not going to be super receptive to working with you, unless it’s Drake. Drake loves ghostwriters. But for most business owners who are not rappers, when you say, "I help businesses grow through strategic content", now you're speaking their language. Now you're talking about the thing they actually care about. e’ve used to help real people like you achieve their goals, whether it was landing their first client for $10,000 llike Rohith A Growth Writer isn't just someone who writes words. A Growth Writer is someone who understands how content fits into the bigger picture of a business. How emails nurture people into customers. How LinkedIn content builds authority and generates inbound opportunities. How instagram posts build a real relationship with a potential customer. How a good sequence of emails can dramatically increase the likelihood of someone buying a product or service. When you're just a "freelance writer," or a “content writer” or a “copywriter” you're a commodity. You're competing on price. You're getting compared to the person on Fiverr who will write a blog post for fifteen bucks. And you're constantly having to explain what you do and why it matters. But when you're a Growth Writer, everything changes. See, business owners don't care about "content." They don't wake up thinking "Oh I really need some blogs today." They don’t stay up late at night thinking about LinkedIn content. However, they spend endless amounts of time thinking about the growth of their business. They're thinking about leads. They're thinking about sales. They're thinking about revenue. So when you show up and say, "I help businesses grow revenue through strategic content", now you're speaking their language. Now you're talking about the thing they actually care about. You're not just a writer. You're a strategic partner who happens to use writing as your tool. And here's the beautiful part: When you position yourself this way, you attract better clients. Clients who understand the value of what you do. Clients who are willing to pay real money because they see you as an investment, not an expense. You also repel the wrong clients, the ones who want to nickel and dime you, the ones who don't see the value in content, the ones who would have been a nightmare to work with anyway. So throughout this entire masterclass, I want you to think of yourself as a Growth Writer. Not a freelancer. Not a ghostwriter. Not a content creator. Not a copywriter. A Growth Writer. That mental shift alone will change how you talk about yourself, how you reach out to clients, and how much you charge. I really want to stress this because it’s so important: clients aren't buying writing. They're buying what writing can do for them. Nobody wants to buy "four blog posts a month." They want more traffic. More customers. More sales. More authority in their space. Nobody wants to buy "daily LinkedIn posts." They want to be seen as a thought leader. They want inbound opportunities showing up in their DMs. They want people reaching out to them instead of the other way around. So when you position yourself as a Growth Writer, you're not selling the deliverable. You're selling the outcome. And this changes everything about how you market yourself, how you reach out to prospects, and how much you can charge. Now let's talk about the second piece of this puzzle: what services you actually need to sell... This is where most freelance writers completely overcomplicate things. They think they need to offer a million different services to appeal to a ton of different clients. Blog posts, social media content, email sequences, website copy, sales pages, video scripts, newsletters, case studies, white papers... And they end up looking like a generalist who's not particularly great at anything. When you try to be everything to everyone, you end up being nothing to no one. As a Growth Writer, you want to do the opposite. You want to specialize in a specific set of deliverables that produce a specific outcome for a specific type of client. There are really only three core services that Growth Writers need to offer. That's it. Just three. Service #1: Social Content This is the bread and butter. LinkedIn posts, Twitter threads, Instagram captions, Scripted reels, things like that on whatever platform your client wants to be active on. Social content is the easiest service to sell because every business owner knows they should be posting more consistently. They feel guilty about it. They know their competitors are doing it. They just don't have the time or energy to do it themselves. And here's the beautiful thing about social content: it's recurring. You're writing daily or weekly content that they need month after month after month. That's how you properly sell retainers. Not by selling one-off projects, but by becoming indispensable to their ongoing content operation. The typical structure for social content looks something like this: ● You sell a set amount of posts per month, on whatever platforms the client wants to prioritize ● You hop on a 30 to 60-minute call with the client once a week or every other week to extract their ideas, stories, and insights ● You turn those conversations into posts written in their voice with the help of AI ● They review, approve, and post (or you post for them if they give you access) That's it. That's the deliverable. But remember, you're not selling "12 LinkedIn posts." You're selling "a consistent presence that positions them as a thought leader and generates inbound opportunities." The deliverable is the posts. The outcome is the growth. Sell the outcome The next service you can sell is newsletters. This is the second most valuable service you can offer, and in many ways it's even more profitable than social content. Here's why: email is where the money is made. Social media is great for visibility and top-of-funnel awareness. But email is where relationships get deepened and sales actually happen. When a business owner has an email list, that list is an asset. Every subscriber represents potential revenue. And most business owners are absolutely terrible at emailing their list consistently. They know they should be sending more emails. They feel guilty about letting their list go cold. But they don't know what to write, or they're scared of annoying their subscribers, or they just keep putting it off. That's where you come in. Email content can look like: ● Weekly newsletters ● Nurture sequences for new subscribers ● Launch sequences for product releases ● Re-engagement campaigns for cold subscribers ● Sales sequences for promotions And just like social content, email is recurring. They need emails going out every week. Which means consistent monthly revenue for you. The typical structure might look like this • 15-30 emails per month • You get on a call to understand their offers, their audience, and their goals • You write emails designed to nurture, engage, and sell • They review, approve, and send Again, you're not selling "4 emails per month." You're selling "a nurture system that turns subscribers into customers or clients." Now, the last service I recommend selling is, Long-Form Content This is the third piece of the puzzle, and it's optional depending on what type of clients you work with. Long-form content includes things like, YouTube scripts, blog posts and articles, or lead magnets and guides. Long-form content is less recurring than short form content or email, but it can be extremely valuable for certain clients. For example, if your client is focused on coaching, they might need 4-8 blog posts per month on their website that they can also post about. Or they might need a lead magnet to capture emails. That's a one-off project, but it can lead to ongoing work. The key with long-form content is to position it as part of a larger growth strategy, not just "content for content's sake." You're not writing blog posts because blog posts are cool. You're writing blog posts because they drive organic traffic, capture leads, and position your client as an authority in their space. Okay, so now we’ve covered the positioning, and the services you’ll offer. So let's talk about the part everyone wants to know: how do you actually find these clients and get them to pay you? Before we talk about this, we need to discuss the 3 specific limiting beliefs we need to shift for you if you actually want to see real results, meaning, you can actually make good money doing this. I’m going to walk you through each one of these limiting beliefs, and then I’m going to show you the exact step by step process for finding clients, getting on calls with them, and turning them into closed deals. I promise you, if you don’t get rid of these beliefs, you’re going to give up on day 2 of your journey, so stick with me, this is important. Limiting belief number one is feeling like reaching out to business owners is “salesy” or that you’re somehow bothering them by reaching out to them. Look, sales can definitely be intimidating, because you have to risk being rejected, and rejection stings. I would know. My 5th grade crush rejected me and I have never recovered since. THANKS LAUREN! But all jokes aside: if you want to hit $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 a month or more, you have to understand that sales is non-negotiable. There’s no such thing as a writer who makes money without selling themselves. Even fiction writers like JK Rowling or Stephen King, they have to sell their books to a publisher, sell their scripts to producers, book in speaking tours, all that. So, if you’re writing for businesses, you have to be comfortable selling yourself. The issue most people have, even if they’ve gotten past that initial fear of rejection, is that they see sales as pestering or annoying people. But it’s not. You’re not bothering anyone. You’re just looking for the right people you can actually help. Most people who aren’t interested will just ignore you. It’s rare that you get the person who will respond back to you something like “I HATE YOU! STOP REACHING OUT TO ME!” You wouldn’t want to work with them anyways. The correct belief to hold is that sales is just you looking for people who actually need your help, and you can’t help anyone if you don’t put yourself out there. I promise you, the majority of people are not judging you, and the people who are, they’ve got their own issues and are probably insecure anyways. When you reach out to a business owner, you're not showing up with your hand out asking for charity. You're showing up with a skill that can literally make them money. Think about it this way. If a business owner is posting on LinkedIn, or sending emails to their list, or running a blog, they're doing that because they believe content drives revenue. They're already bought in on the idea. The problem is, most of them don't have time to do it well, or they're not great writers themselves. So when you show up and say, "Hey, I can take this off your plate AND make it better," you're not being annoying. You're being helpful. You're solving a problem they already know they have. Now, here's a reframe that might help: imagine you're a plumber, and you see someone's house is flooding. There’s poo everywhere. It’s an absolute mess and looks like the inside of a gas station bathroom. Would you feel "salesy" by offering to help? No. You'd feel like you're doing them a favor and helping them out. That's exactly what you're doing when you reach out to a business owner who clearly needs help with their content. You're the plumber. Their content strategy is the Taco Bell aftermath that resulted in a backed up toilet. And look, I get it. Some of you have tried reaching out to business owners before and it didn't work. Maybe you sent 50 messages and got zero responses. That's frustrating. But the problem wasn't that you reached out, the problem was probably HOW you reached out. Remember what we talked about with Growth Writing, by aligning ourselves with what the business owner actually wants, revenue growth, they’re going to be more receptive to our outreach. I’m going to show you here in a bit exactly what message to send them, but for now, just internalize this: sales is service. You're looking for people you can genuinely help. That's it. Alright, let's move on to the next limiting belief number two. Limiting belief number two is thinking you need more experience, more credentials, or more "expertise" before you can start, or before you can charge real money. This one is a silent killer. It stops you from starting in the first place, and even if you do start, it stops you from charging what you're worth. Think about the plumber example I just shared. Do you ask for credentials before a plumber unclogs your toilet? Or do you just care that the very smelly problem is fixed. You want the problem fixed, right? Business owners are the same way. They don't care how many years you've been doing this. They don't care about your certifications. They don't care if you went to some fancy journalism school or if you dropped out of college to pursue your dream of becoming an Irish throat-singing tap dancer. They care about one thing: Can you solve their problem? Can you write content that gets engagement? Can you write emails that get opened and clicked? Can you help them generate leads and grow their business? And when I get to the outreach section of this masterclass I’m going to show you how to subconsciously install the belief into your prospect that you can help them get results. So again, this second limiting belief really stems from the fact that people think they need to reach some imaginary finish line before they're "allowed" to start. They're waiting for permission. They're waiting until they feel ready. So guys, it’s crucial to understand that no one's going to give you permission. This is your life. This is your income. You have to give yourself permission to do it and be okay that part of your journey will just be learning on the job. Okay, so that’s limiting belief number 2. The third and final limiting belief is that if it doesn’t work right away, it’s not going to work at all. This one is sneaky because it disguises itself as being "realistic" or "practical." Here's how it usually plays out. Someone sends 20 outreach messages. They don't get any responses. They think, "See? This doesn't work. The market is saturated. No one wants to hire writers. I knew this was too good to be true, my dad was right, that’s why he left for milk and never came back!” And they quit, just like their dad quit on them. I’m joking (kinda), but seriously so many people make the mistake of not staying in the game long enough. Meanwhile, the person who sent 200 messages? They booked 5 calls. Closed 1 client. And now they have proof that it works, so they keep going. And here’s the thing, let’s say it took them 20 minutes to find each person and reach out to them, so in total they worked about 66 hours to land that client. And let’s say that client paid them $3500 up front. Well, if we do some math, we can see they got paid $53 per hour of outreach JUST to land that client. And let’s say that client sticks with them for 6 months, so they end up getting paid about $21,000 in total. Suddenly those 66 hours of outreach are now worth $318 per hour. That’s how you think about this. Every time you get ignored or have someone say no, it’s just one step closer to you getting paid. But you’re never gonna get paid if you step off what I call the Sales Carousel. The Sales Carousel is this idea that as long as you stay on the ride, you're guaranteed to eventually grab the brass ring. Now if you don't know what I'm talking about, back in the day, carousels, you know, the merry-go-rounds with the horses, they used to have this thing where there was a brass ring hanging off to the side. And as you went around and around on the carousel, you could reach out and try to grab it. If you grabbed the brass ring, you won a prize. Sometimes it was a free ride, sometimes it was teddy bear or whatever. But here's the thing: you couldn't grab it on every rotation. Sometimes you'd reach out and miss. Sometimes you weren't in the right position. Sometimes someone else grabbed it before you got there. But as long as you stayed on the carousel, you had another chance coming. Every rotation was another opportunity. The moment you stepped off? No more chances. Game over. That's exactly how sales works. Every rotation is another outreach message. Another follow-up. Another call. And every rotation brings you closer to grabbing that brass ring, which in this case is a paying client. Some rotations you'll miss. Someone won't respond. Someone will say no. Someone will ghost you after a great call. That's fine. Another rotation is coming. But the moment you step off the carousel? It's over. You don't get the ring. You don't get the client. You don't get the money. And here's what's brutal about stepping off: you don't just lose the future wins. You lose all the progress you already made. All those messages you sent? Wasted. All that momentum you built? Gone. You're starting from zero again if you ever decide to get back on. I've seen people step off the carousel, not realizing, they were literally one or two messages away from a breakthrough. They didn't know it, obviously. But statistically, if you've sent 150 messages and gotten nothing, you're probably pretty close. The math is about to start working in your favor. But most people would quit at 150. And the person who kept going to 200? They landed the client. Don't step off the carousel. The other thing people don't understand about sales is that there are timelines involved and not everyone is ready to buy right now. And that's okay. When you reach out to someone, you're catching them at a specific moment in time. Maybe they just hired someone. Maybe they're in the middle of a launch and can't think about anything else. Maybe they're interested but their budget is tied up for the next quarter. None of that means they'll never be interested. It just means the timing wasn't right. Don’t take this personally, and say “Fine I didn’t want to work with you anyways!!” Never close the door, they’re a no today but they could be a yes in a month. This is why follow-up is so important, and why staying visible matters. The person who says "not right now" in January might be desperately looking for help in April. And if you've stayed in touch, if you've kept showing up, guess who they're going to think of? You. But if you quit in February because you got discouraged? You're not even in the game anymore when they're ready to buy. Sales is a long game. The people who win are the ones who stay on the carousel long enough to let the math work out. So the correct belief to hold here is: this is a numbers game with a delayed payoff. Every outreach message is an investment that compounds over time. As long as I stay on the carousel and keep improving, results are inevitable. Alright, so those are the three limiting beliefs we needed to shift: Number one: Sales isn't annoying or "salesy", it's service. You're just looking for people you can genuinely help, and you can't help anyone if you don't put yourself out there. Number two: You don't need permission, credentials, or years of experience to start and charge well. Clients pay for outcomes, not resumes. Give yourself permission to learn on the job. Number three: Sales takes time and consistency. Stay on the carousel. The math will eventually work in your favor if you don't quit. Now that we've got your mindset right, let's get into the actual tactics. So how do you find clients, reach out to them, get on calls, and close deals? I'm going to break this down into three phases. Phase One: Prospecting & Outreach Phase Two: Follow Up Phase Three: Closing So, Phase One: Prospecting and Outreach. Prospecting is just a fancy word for finding people who would be a good fit to work with you. That's it. You're looking for business owners who need help with content and have the budget to pay for it. Now, there are a million places you could theoretically find clients. You could cold email. You could do LinkedIn outreach. You could go to networking events. You could join Facebook groups. You could do Twitter. You could stand on a street corner with a sign that says "Will Write Content For Food." I don't recommend that last one. Bad for your personal brand and overall mental health. But here's the thing: you don't need a million strategies. You need one strategy that works, and then you need to do it consistently. For Growth Writers, the best platform to find clients is LinkedIn. And it's not even close. Here's why. LinkedIn is where business owners hang out. It's where coaches, consultants, agency owners, course creators, and entrepreneurs go to build their personal brand and generate leads. These are exactly the people who need content help. And here's the beautiful part: they're already posting. They're already trying to create content. Which means they've already bought into the idea that content matters. You don't have to convince them that content is valuable, they already believe that. You just have to convince them that YOU can help them do it better. That's a much easier sale. Compare that to cold emailing some random business owner who isn't active on social media at all. Now you have to convince them that content matters AND that you're the right person to help. That's two sales instead of one. So we're going to focus on LinkedIn. Now, who exactly are you looking for? Well, you're looking for people who fit three criteria. Criteria number one: they've actively posted content within the past 6 months. This shows they care about content and they're invested in growing their presence, but they may just not have the time. If someone hasn't posted in 6 months, they're probably not going to pay you to write for them. Criteria number two: they have something to sell. This could be coaching, consulting, courses, an agency, software, whatever. The point is, they have a way to make money from the attention their content generates. If they don't have something to sell, they don't have a reason to pay you. Criteria number three: they look like they can afford you. This is a bit of a vibe check, but you can usually tell. Do they have a decent following? Does their business look legit? Do they seem like they're making money? You don't want to pitch someone who's just getting started and has $47 in their bank account. When all three of these criteria are met, you've got a good prospect. So how do you actually find these people? The easiest way is to just start scrolling LinkedIn with intention. Go to your feed and look for posts that are getting engagement. Look for people who are clearly trying to build an audience. Click on their profile. See what they do. See if they have something to sell. If they fit the three criteria, posted content in the past, has something to sell, and looks like they can afford you, add them to a list. You can use a simple Google Sheet for this. Nothing fancy. Just their name, their LinkedIn URL, what they do, and any notes about them that might be useful for your outreach later. Another way to find prospects is to use LinkedIn search. Go to the search bar and type in titles like "coach," "consultant," "founder," "CEO," or whatever niche you want to target. Filter by "People." And then start going through the results. Look at their profiles. Are they posting? Do they have a business? Do they look legit? If yes, add them to your list. You can also look at who's commenting on popular posts in your niche. If someone is actively commenting on content, that means they're engaged on the platform. They care about visibility. They're probably trying to grow. Those are good prospects. Another goldmine is looking at who's hosting or appearing on podcasts. If someone is doing podcast interviews, they're clearly invested in building their personal brand. They understand the value of content. The point is, prospects are everywhere. You just have to train your brain to spot them. Now here's a mistake I see people make all the time: they spend way too much time prospecting and not enough time reaching out. They'll build a list of 200 people and then never message any of them. They feel productive because they're "working on their business," but they're not actually doing the thing that makes money, which is starting conversations. Here's my rule: for every hour you spend finding prospects, you should be spending at least 30 minutes reaching out to them. Prospecting without outreach is just procrastination with extra steps. Okay, so you've got your list of prospects. Now what do you actually say to them? This is where most people completely screw it up. Sales is pretty simple. It's an input-output game. You put the inputs in, reach out to people, start conversations, and eventually you get outputs, clients and money. But what most people do is blast cold messages to everyone and anyone. Even if you use the Growth Writer positioning I talked about earlier, if you're just spraying and praying, you might get some responses here and there, but they're not going to be high quality. And honestly? It demotivates you. Because when you send 1000 generic messages and get zero responses, you start thinking "this doesn't work" when really the problem is HOW you're doing it. Most people can tell when you're blasting the same message to everyone. There's nothing unique about their business in your message. It doesn't feel like you did any research. When you say "Hey, I can help you grow your personal brand," it feels like spam, because it is spam. So what's really important is making sure that when you reach out to a business owner, whether it's via DM on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, email, or carrier pigeon, you make what you send personalized. This is huge. It's better to send 100 super deep, high-quality, research-backed messages to people you actually want to work with than to send 10,000 generic messages. Every single time, the quality approach outperforms the spam approach. A high-quality message means you looked at the person, looked at their brand, made sure you actually want to write for them, and then you provide something that shows you did your research properly. I'll show you exactly what to send in a minute, but for now understand this is where AI comes into play to automate a lot of this for you. More on that later. When you reach out, you want to provide something valuable, something that shows you put in the effort to understand what you can do for them. That's going to get you way more responses because you're playing into the law of reciprocity. The law of reciprocity basically says: when you give something to someone, they naturally want to give something back. In this case, they give you their time. And eventually, their money muhahahaha. This immediately separates you from all the grifters and askers online. You've seen it on LinkedIn, people reaching out with unsolicited garbage like, "Hey, let’s connect! " or "Do you want to synergize?" or my personal favorite, "I notice you breathe air, I also breathe air, let's connect!" No. That's not valuable to anyone. It’s actually kinda creepy. People aren't going to be receptive to that. You have to focus on reaching out with actual value. Now, here's something important. You can tie your personality into your outreach, but you have to do it the right way. For example, let's say you see someone who loves college football and is a big Texas Longhorns fan. And you see Texas just won a big game against the Oklahoma Sooners. Here's what you DON'T want to do: "Hey John, I'm also a Texas Longhorn fan! Screw the Sooners! Hook 'em! I love football too, let's connect!" That's terrible. It comes off like you're trying to sell something but pretending you're not. It doesn't build trust. It builds suspicion. Instead, get down to business right away while still being personable... Here’s the golden message: "Hey John, I was checking out your profile and learned a lot from your last post on scaling SaaS companies. I also read an article you were featured in that shared your story about starting your company from nothing. I haven’t seen you post about that on LinkedIn, but I know if you put out more story-based content like that you could really grow your personal brand and get more customers into your SaaS Academy. So I went ahead and put together..." And that's when you give them the valuable asset. See the difference? The first one is fake rapport building. The second one shows you actually did your research AND you're providing value upfront. That's your outreach strategy. If you can dedicate focused time to this every day and commit to doing it for six months, you'll see insane results. At the end of six months, you'll probably be way further ahead financially than you ever thought possible. Your bank account will be bigger than ever, you'll have recurring revenue coming in, and you'll realize sales isn't difficult...it's just a numbers game, and you have to play it. So what does free work look like? You write some tweets for them. Some LinkedIn posts. Maybe an Instagram script or a blog post. You put it all together in a nice document, examples of what you could create for them, and you send it along with your outreach message. This is what separates you from literally everyone else reaching out. When someone sees on your first message that you researched their brand, put together emails in their voice, wrote tweets, drafted LinkedIn posts, created Instagram content ideas, and all they have to do is say yes and you'll handle everything, that's incredibly valuable. It separates you from everyone else reaching out because you actually put in effort. I’ve received 1000s of outreach messages and they all look the same. I’ve only worked with 3 people because they followed this hyper personalized strategy. Practically no one does this. That's why most people stay stuck and can't get any interest. This is the best proven strategy for getting clients. And yes, it takes time upfront. People normally don't want to do this because it takes so much time. Writing custom content for every single prospect? That could take hours per person. I’m going to show you at the end of the masterclass how we can help you automate the majority of the heavy lifting here. Alright, let's talk about Phase Two: Follow-Ups. This is where most people completely drop the ball. They send one message, don't get a response, and assume the person isn't interested. So they move on and never follow up. That's leaving so much money on the table. Here's the reality: most people read every message they get. But they filter out whether they recognize the person, whether they're interested, whether the timing is right. A lot of times, even if they're interested, they see your message, think "I'll respond to this later," and then forget. That doesn't mean they don't want to work with you. It means they're busy and your message slipped through the cracks. This is why follow-up is so important. Now, a lot of people send dumb follow-ups. They send memes. They send random stuff. They send "just bumping this to the top of your inbox." Memes are fine in certain contexts, but in follow-ups they often come off as annoying, like you're just bothering the person. It doesn't add anything. It doesn't move the conversation forward. It's way better to expand on what you said before. Show them more parts of the value you're creating for them. Explain how it benefits their business. Keep following up with that. So here's how this works in practice. Remember that content document you created for them? You just keep adding to it. Every couple weeks, you write more sample content. More tweets. More LinkedIn posts. Maybe an email sequence idea. Maybe another YouTube script outline. And then your follow-up becomes: "Hey, I just added more content ideas for you. Check out page 3 of the doc I sent." Or: "Hey, saw your recent post about [topic]. I wrote a quick Twitter thread that could expand on that idea. Added it to your doc." Now your follow-up isn't annoying, it's valuable. You're giving them more free stuff every time you reach out. Eventually, they'll respond. When your name pops up consistently over weeks or even months, and each time you're providing something valuable, they're going to think, "Alright, let me actually respond to this person. They're clearly consistent and they'd probably crush it for my business." That's the secret with follow-ups: don't send memes or fake rapport builders. Focus all your time and energy on being valuable and sharing valuable stuff. One follow-up per week is a good rhythm. Maybe every two weeks if you want to be more conservative. The key is consistency and value. Every single touch should give them something useful. Now, you don't want to just message people and not keep track of anything. That's chaos. AI can help you with your follow ups and there’s also a super straightforward way to keep track of everything, I’ll cover that at the end of the masterclass. Let’s move on to Phase 3, Closing. This is where you actually get paid. A lot of people are intimidated by sales calls. They think it's some coked-up Jordan Belfort, Wolf of Wall Street, high-pressure negotiation where you have to handle objections and act like a slick salesperson. But that's not what sales has to be. When you reach out to someone and they say, "Hey, I like this, thanks," and you say, "Let's get on a call", it's super simple from there. Just talk to them. We’ve included a sales script you can go through inside this program, but I wanted to just give you a high level overview of how the calls should go... You get on and say something like, "Hey John, thanks for hopping on. How are you doing?” Do a little chit chat and then transition into your opening question... “What'd you think of the content I sent over?" Let them talk. They'll probably say something like, "Yeah, I really liked it." You’re then going to transition into asking question... "What problems are you experiencing right now with your content?" "Why do you want to grow your personal brand but can't do it yourself?" "What's the main opportunity for you if you could grow your brand?" “What’s your mother’s maiden name and last 3 digits on your credit card” Okay, maybe not that last question, but essentially you want to let them tell you what they want and what their desired situation is. Ask growth orientated questions like, "What do you want to grow your brand to? What are you trying to accomplish?" Get an understanding of their problems and what they want. Then you’ll ask, "What's primarily holding you back from achieving this?" They'll usually say one of three things: One: "I don't know how to do it myself." Two: "I don't have time to do it myself." Three: "I want someone better than me to do it." You figure out which one it is. So once you understand their pain points, desired outcome, and what’s stopping them from getting results, you can walk them through how your process works. I recommend simplifying your process into 3 steps and keeping it under 3 minutes. This makes it easy for your prospect to understand. It’s also important that you tie their pain points and desired outcome to your process. For example, if they told you they don’t want their content to sound generic, you can explain how step 1 of your process is interviewing them so you can write content that’s authentic to their voice and experiences. Or if they mentioned that they want more time, emphasize how hands-off the process is for them and how you only need an hour or two of their time a month. By tying what they said to your process, they’ll feel like your service is the perfect fit for them. So once you’d laid out your 3 step process, ask them how they feel about your process specifically. If they sound confident in it, move on to the next part. Or if they sound hesitant, ask what concerns they have and handle them until they’re confident in your process. Do not move forward until they feel confident. Now, all that’s left is revealing your price. I recommend charging anywhere from $1,500 to $5,000 per month, depending on your sales ability, experience level, and what you're doing for them. This is the range that actually makes the math work for both of you. Now, the next part of the call is objection handling. Objection handling is a whole thing in itself. We cover it in depth inside the sales script, specifically how to handle objections that pop up for growth writing services, so we’re not going to spend time on it in this video because it could be a full hour by itself. What’s important is you now have a high level overview of how these calls should go. Super easy, straightforward. Don't overcomplicate it. Just be straightforward and genuine. Be okay with stuttering, messing up words, or accidentally saying something dumb on a call. The person will like you for it because you're not some perfect, polished robot trying to run a sales call. People are attracted to authenticity. That's how you build real relationships. So that's how you reach out to get people on calls and convert them in a way that lets you stack clients. So now you know how to get clients... How do you go about keeping them? Well, in order to help illustrate this for you, I want to tell you a story of two Growth Writers. Let's call them Timmy and Johnny Both of them went through the same process I just taught you. They did the outreach. They sent value upfront. They got on calls. They closed clients. In fact, they both landed the exact same type of client, a business coach paying $3,000 a month for LinkedIn and Twitter content. Same starting point. Same opportunity. But six months later, their situations looked completely different. With Timmy, Their client fired them after three months. They had to scramble to find a replacement. They went from $3,000 a month back down to zero, stressed out, wondering what went wrong. With Johnny, Their client not only stayed, but upgraded to the $5,000 package. The client also referred two friends, and now Writer B has three clients, $13,000 a month in recurring revenue, and they barely had to do any additional outreach to get there. Same starting point. Wildly different outcomes. So what was the difference? It wasn't talent. It wasn't luck. It wasn't that Writer B had some secret skill that Timmy didn't have. The difference was how they treated the client relationship after the sale. Let me break down what Timmy did wrong. Timmy got the client and immediately went into "delivery mode." They wrote the content, sent it over, and waited for feedback. When the client had revisions, they made them. When the client asked for something, they did it. Sounds fine, right? They were doing the job. But here's what they weren't doing. They weren't communicating proactively. The client had to chase them down for updates. "Hey, where's this week's content?" "Hey, did you see my last message?" The client felt like they were managing Timmy instead of the other way around. They weren't learning the client's voice. Three months in, the content still didn't quite sound like the client. It was good content, but it felt generic. The client was spending almost as much time giving feedback and revisions as they would have spent writing it themselves. They weren't bringing ideas. Timmy just waited to be told what to write. They never said, "Hey, I noticed this trend in your industry, we should do a post about it." They never suggested new content formats or strategies. They were reactive, not proactive. And they weren't building a relationship. Every interaction was transactional. Content in, feedback out. There was no rapport. No connection. The client didn't feel like Timmy was invested in their success, it felt like Writer A was just doing a job. So when the client started getting busy and needed to cut expenses, guess who was first on the chopping block? Timmy. It wasn't personal. The client didn't hate them. They just didn't feel like Timmy was essential. They figured they could probably find someone else, or just do it themselves for a while. Now let's talk about Johnny. Johnny did things differently from day one. First, Johnny set up a communication rhythm. Every Monday, Johnny sent a quick Loom video walking the client through the week's content. "Here's what's going out this week, here's the strategy behind each piece, let me know if you want any changes." The client never had to wonder what was happening. They felt taken care of. Second, Johnny obsessed over learning the client's voice. Johnny listened to the client's podcast episodes. He read their old posts. He paid attention to the phrases the client used, the way they structured their thoughts, the topics they were passionate about. Within a few weeks, the content sounded exactly like the client. Revisions dropped to almost zero. Third, he brought ideas constantly. "Hey, I saw this post blow up in your niche, want me to put our spin on it?" "I noticed you mentioned this on your podcast, that would make a great LinkedIn carousel." "Your competitor just launched this, here's how we can respond." Johnny wasn't waiting to be told what to do. They were actively thinking about how to make the client's brand better. Fourth, they built an actual relationship. They remembered personal details. They celebrated the client's wins. When the client had a rough week, Johnny checked in. It wasn't fake, it was genuine interest in the client as a person, not just a paycheck. So when the client's business started growing and they needed more content, who did they turn to? Johnny. "Hey, can you also take over my newsletter? And maybe help with some YouTube scripts?" That's how $3,000 a month became $5,000 a month. And when the client's friends asked, "Who's doing your content? It's gotten so good lately," the client didn't hesitate. "You have to talk to Johnny. They're amazing." That's how one client became three. Same starting point. Same opportunity. Completely different outcomes. The difference wasn't talent. It was how they approached the relationship. So let me give you the specific things you need to do to be Johnny instead of Timmy. Number one: communicate before they have to ask. Never let your client wonder what's going on. Send weekly updates. Use Loom videos to walk them through content. Let them know if something's running late before they have to chase you. The goal is for them to feel like you're always on top of things. Like they never have to worry about the content because you've got it handled. Number two: master their voice fast. This is your number one job in the first few weeks. Consume everything they've created. Interview your client. Read their old posts. Pay attention to how they talk, what phrases they use, what topics light them up. The faster you can write content that sounds exactly like them, the more indispensable you become. When revisions drop to zero, they can't imagine working with anyone else. Number three: bring ideas, don't just take orders. Don't be a content vending machine where they put in a request and you spit out a post. Be a strategic partner. Pay attention to their industry. Notice what's working for other people in their space. Bring them opportunities they didn't even know existed. When you do this, you're not just a writer, you're a valuable part of their team. Number four: actually give a shit. This one's hard to fake, so don't try. Actually care about your client's success. Celebrate their wins. Be genuinely curious about their business. Build a real relationship. People can tell the difference between someone who's just doing a job and someone who's actually invested. Be the second one. Number five: make their life easier every single month. In the beginning, there's going to be a learning curve. More questions. More revisions. More back and forth. That's normal. But every month, you should need less from them. You should understand their business better. You should be able to run more autonomously. The goal is to get to a point where they barely have to think about content. They just know it's handled. That's when you become impossible to replace. If you do these five things, you'll keep clients for a long time. You'll have that stable, recurring revenue that lets you actually enjoy the freedom this business model provides. You won't be stressed every month wondering if someone's going to leave. You won't be constantly scrambling to replace clients. You'll have a real business with real relationships that compound over time. Okay guys, so that’s everything. If you do all of that, you'll have a real business. Recurring revenue. Freedom. Stability. Clients who love you and refer their friends. Do not overcomplicate it. That's the game. Now, here's the thing. Everything I just taught you works. It's proven. We've helped hundreds of people build a powerful income using this exact framework. But I'm not going to lie to you, it takes time. Finding prospects takes time. Writing personalized outreach takes time. Creating free content samples takes time. Following up takes time. Learning a client's voice takes time. If you do all of this manually, you're looking at a lot of hours before you start seeing results. And for most people, that's where they fall off. They get overwhelmed. They get discouraged. They step off the carousel before the math starts working in their favor. That's exactly why we built Growth Ghost. Growth Ghost is our program that gives you everything you need to shortcut this entire process. We give you the training. Step-by-step modules that go way deeper than what I covered today. How to find your niche. How to offer your services. How to onboard clients. How to handle objections. How to write content that actually drives engagement and can go viral. How to build systems that let you take on more clients without burning out. How to use AI to do 70% of the work. All of it, laid out in a way that's easy to follow and implement. Second, we give you the tools. This is the big one. Now we’ve already given you access to our Growth Writer AI Sales Companion, which is designed specifically for everything I outlined today. You drop a link for a prospect's website, add some notes about them, and it generates personalized outreach messages and content samples for you. What used to take 2 to 3 hours now takes under 15 minutes. It also helps you with follow-ups. You input what you've already sent, and it tells you exactly what to say next. No more staring at a blank screen trying to figure out how to re-engage someone. You already have access to this. But we’ve also built AI tools specifically for the client work too. We have tons of prompts that help you come up with ideas, write long form posts, short form posts, threads, emails, and everything else you would need. We also have over 3,000 proven viral content ideas you can replicate and deliver to your clients using our AI tools. The tools are what make this easy, but the community is what makes it fun. Inside the growth ghost community, you're surrounded by other Growth Writers at all stages of the journey. People who just landed their first client. People making $10k a month. People who've scaled to $20k, $30k, or turned their freelance business into a full agency. On top of that, every week I personally host a call, my business partner Taylin who is actively running a Growth Writing agency hosts a call, and Dale who is also actively running a Growth Writing agency hosts one as well. This is how you get expert feedback, support, and coaching for your entire journey with us. You can ask questions, get feedback on your outreach or your work, celebrate wins, and learn from people who are a few steps ahead of you. We have weekly accountability check-ins that keep you on track and allow you to ask for additional support. And also, if you don’t fill out the check in, we reach out to you to make sure you don’t fall off track. That accountability and support makes a huge difference, especially in the beginning when you're still figuring things out. And also, every month we host a masterclass with experts in the content business. Upon joining, you get immediate access to over 45 previous recordings with Dan Koe, Lara Acosta, Daniel Fazio, and dozens of other business owners who are actively crushing it at content. And last but not least, we give you all the templates and step by step tutorials for the boring legal stuff. Contracts, onboarding documents, and even how to go about setting up banking and payment processors. You don't have to create any of this from scratch or figure it out on your own. We've already done the hard work. You just plug in your info and go. So if you're serious about building a Growth Writing business, if you want the freedom, the income, and the lifestyle that comes with stacking three to five clients at $2,000 to $5,000 a month, Growth Ghost is the fastest way to get there. Now, I want to be clear about something. You don't need Growth Ghost to make this work. Everything I taught you today, You can go do it on your own. You can figure out the prospecting. You can write your own outreach. You can build your own systems. You can grind it out manually until you get results. Some people do that successfully. It just takes longer. Growth Ghost is for people who want to shortcut the process. Who want the tools, the training, the templates, the coaching, and the community to get results faster. This is for people who value their time and want to invest in something that's going to accelerate their progress. If that's you, here's what to do next. Below this video, there's a button to book a call with our team. It's a free call. No pressure. No sleazy sales tactics. We'll just talk about where you're at, where you want to go, and whether Growth Ghost is actually a good fit for you. If it is, great, we'll tell you how to join. If it's not, that's cool too. We'll point you in the right direction and you can go crush it on your own. Either way, you're going to leave the call with clarity on your next steps. So if you're ready to stop thinking about this and actually start doing it, click the button below and book your call. Alright, that's everything. Thanks for watching. Thanks for paying attention. I know I told you to abandon your children at the beginning, but please go check on them now. They've been alone for like 40 minutes and that's probably not great parenting. You can also now go doom scroll because I know your brain is craving dopamine. Or you could book a call with Growth Ghost ;) but no pressure there. Okay, go get some clients. Stay on the carousel. And hopefully I'll see you on the inside. All the best, bye now. Ad 1 Cold outreach as a freelance writer isn't quantum physics. You open up a Google Sheet. You find 100 or so business owners who look like they need help with content. You fill in their details—website, LinkedIn, Twitter, whatever. You follow them. You start paying attention to what they post. And then you reach out. That's it. That's how cold outreach works. It’s pretty simple. So why do most freelance writers who try cold outreach get absolutely nowhere? Why do they send 200 messages and get two replies—both of which are some version of "no thanks"? It's not the spreadsheet. It's not the number of prospects. It's not even the message itself. It's what they're selling. See, most freelance writers reach out and say something like: "Hey, I'm a ghostwriter. I write LinkedIn posts. Want me to write yours?" Or… “Hey I can write your newsletter for you, here’s some samples…” And the business owner reads that and thinks... "Why would I pay someone $2,000 a month to do something ChatGPT does for 20 bucks a month?" If you're positioning yourself as someone who writes words, you're competing against a robot that doesn't sleep, doesn't miss deadlines, and doesn't charge a retainer. You will lose that fight. Every time. I get it, you love writing, I love writing too, I’m sure you also love money, and guess what, business owners love money too. Don’t sell them writing, sell them money. But at the end of the day, the client doesn’t give a shit, they care about growing their business. My name is Dakota Robertson and I’ve been training freelance writers for the past few years and there are three main case studies which prove what I’m sharing with you. Anthony Carlton scaled up to $91,000 a month with writing as a service. Clifton Sellers scaled up to $1,000,000 a year with writing as a service. Taylin Simmonds scaled up to $501,000 a yearwith writing as a service. But want to know what they all have in common? None of them sold writing, it’s just what they delivered to the client. Instead, they sold the client on Growth. Tangible business metrics their prospects actually cared about. You see when you focus on selling the end outcome you will get for a prospect… More followers. More leads. More sales. You’re now starting to sell them what they want and your cold outreach becomes instantly more effective. You stop getting ignored. You stop feeling like you're begging for scraps. And your prices stop being a negotiation. This is how smart freelance writers are positioning themselves in 2026 because they know the market is saturated with people trying to sell titles… I’m a ghostwriter…I’m a copywriter… Don’t position yourself like that. Position yourself as a growth writer. I put together a product called The Growth Writer Shift which explains exactly how to sell prospects in a way that doesn’t make you look like everyone else… And instead positions you as a trusted partner and an indispensable asset to their business. It shows you exactly how to find business owners who are practically begging for help with their content, people who have real budget and real urgency, not freebie-seekers who want to "hop on a quick call" and then ghost you forever. It shows you how to craft an outreach message that gets prospects to actually respond and say "how did you know I needed this?" It shows you how to run your sales calls in a way that you’re only speaking to people who actually want to buy and as a result your close rate is close to 80 or 90%... And perhaps most importantly... It shows you how to shift the playing field so you’re not viewed as a commodity that’s easily replaced by ChatGPT… And instead you’re viewed as an indispensable asset for a company. Look, I could tell you more here but this ad is already getting long and I'd rather just show you. I put together a page that breaks down the entire Growth Writer method—how it works, the story behind how I discovered it, and how it’s helped produce a small fortune for people like Anthony Carlton and Clifton Sellers. So if you're a freelance writer who's tired of fighting for scraps in a market that treats you like a commodity... Click below and see why you need to be selling growth instead of writing. Ad 2 Should I Charge By The Hour As A Freelance Writer? No. Should I Charge By The Word As A Freelance Writer? No. Should I Use Upwork Or Fiverr To Land Gigs As A Freelance Writer? No. Hourly rates, charging per word, and using gig sites are the worst things you can do to your freelance writing business. They will keep you broke and stressed. And it’s because all 3 of these common mistakes keep you stuck in a position where clients treat you like hired help instead of someone worth listening to. Because here’s the thing… When you bill hourly, you are selling your time, and the problem with selling time is that it's a commodity that everyone has, and the guy on Fiverr who can barely string a sentence together? He's got cheaper time than you. When you charge by the word, you're just selling a commodity. And you're competing against Claude and ChatGPT which can write a thousand times more words than you ever could. This is when clients start asking if you're using AI. This is when they start running your drafts through detectors. This is when you find yourself justifying that yes, you actually wrote this yourself, like you're a student turning in a term paper. And the gig sites like Fiverr and Upwork throw you into a pit with 10,000 other writers who are all racing to see who can charge the least. Because here’s the thing, business owners don’t value writing. That’s why you shouldn’t sell writing. Because business owners value growth. They value more followers. More leads. More sales. More authority in their market. Writing is just the vehicle that gets them there. But they don't care about the vehicle. They care about the destination. So when you show up and say "I'm a ghostwriter" or "I write LinkedIn posts"—you're selling them a Honda Civic when what they actually want is to get to the airport on time. They don't give a shit about the car. Now here's where it gets interesting. I've spent the last few years training freelance writers. And the ones who actually make real money all figured out the same thing. Anthony Carlton scaled to $91,000 a month. Clifton Sellers hit $1,000,000 a year. Taylin Simmonds crossed $500,000 a year. None of them sold writing. Writing is just what they delivered. They sold growth. They sold outcomes. They sold the thing the business owner was already lying awake at night thinking about. And when you do that, everything changes. You stop getting ignored. You stop chasing prospects who ghost you after one email. You stop negotiating your rates down because the client "doesn't have the budget." The budget appears when you're solving a real problem. I call this Growth Writing. It's the same skillset you already have—just positioned in a way that makes business owners actually want to pay you. I put together a page that breaks down exactly how this works. How to find clients who have real budget. How to reach out in a way that gets responses. How to run sales calls where the close rate is 80 or 90 percent because you're only talking to people who already want what you're offering. Click below to learn more about what I’m calling The Growth Writer Shift. Ad 3 The Middle Class Of Freelance Writing Is Gone. And if you're a freelance writer who hasn't noticed yet, let me clue you in. The market right now has two camps of writers.. In the first camp, you've got writers fighting for scraps. Grinding out low-paying gigs. Taking whatever comes through the door because something is better than nothing. Competing with hundreds of other writers for projects that barely pay enough to justify the time spent pitching for them. These writers are stressed. They're burned out. They're constantly hustling for the next client because nothing sticks. Nothing compounds. It's a treadmill that goes nowhere. In the second camp, you've got writers charging $3,000... $5,000... $7,000 a month on retainer, per client. And here's the thing—these writers aren't better at writing than the people in camp one. But they are better at positioning. They have figured out something that most freelance writers have yet to see. Clients aren't paying for writing anymore. They're paying for growth. They're paying for someone who can look at their business, understand their audience, and tell them exactly what content to publish and why. Someone who thinks strategically. Someone who drives results. That person isn't a "freelance writer." That person is a growth partner. The writers in camp one are still pitching themselves as people who "write content." And the market has decided what that's worth. Not much, because AI can do that now. Simple Supply-demand. The writers in camp two? They're not selling content. They're selling outcomes. More followers. More leads. More revenue. The writing is just the vehicle—it's not the product. Same skills, but completely different positioning, which is giving these writers a completely different income. So the question is: which camp are you in? And more importantly—which camp do you want to be in? Because here's the thing. It's not about talent. It's not about years of experience. It's not about having some fancy journalism degree or a portfolio full of clips from name-brand publications. The writers making $3k, $5k, $7k a month aren't genetically different from you. They just made a shift. They stopped saying "I'm a freelance writer" and started saying "I help businesses grow through content." They stopped pitching deliverables and started pitching outcomes. They stopped competing with AI and started doing the one thing AI can't do—actually understanding a business, its audience, and what's going to move the needle. I've watched this play out hundreds of times now. Anthony Carlton made the shift. Went from financial planner to $91,000 a month. Clifton Sellers made the shift. Scaled to over $1,000,000 a year and is building his forever home in Alabama. Taylin Simmonds made the shift. Hit $500k while still working a full-time job before he quit. Same writing skills they always had. Different positio ning. Different results. I call it Growth Writing. And I put together a page that shows you exactly how it works—the positioning, the outreach, how to find clients with actual budget, how to close them without feeling like a sleazy salesperson. If you're stuck in camp one and you're ready to cross over, click below. Ad 4 “Why would I pay a freelance writer $3,000 a month when ChatGPT costs me $20?” *sad chud face running in slow motion while crying* If you’re still positioning yourself as “just a writer,” you’re competing against AI. And you will lose that fight because AI doesn’t eat, doesn’t sleep, and AI isn’t having to juggle clients. BUT… There’s actually a way to use this to your advantage. You just need to know where the new wave is to ride. And lucky for you, I’ve found it: You need to stop selling writing and content generation, and start selling growth. What does that even mean? Business owners don’t care about content anymore. They care about sales, revenue, and brand growth. When you position yourself as someone who helps them grow in these areas through strategic content, then you’re not competing with ChatGPT anymore. You’re in the left lane passing by the traffic of average writers. You’re a business partner who happens to use writing and AI as your methods to stimulate growth. This is what I call the “Growth Writing Shift” in modern freelance writing. And it’s how writers are landing clients at $3K-$5K per month in 2025, moving into 2026, while everyone else is struggling to tread water. I’ve taught people like Taylin, a former music teacher who was making peanuts in Canada, he used this to scale to $500K per year… Clifton, a father of two who went from corporate sales to making over $1M per year as a writer… And Anthony Carlton, a financial planner who scaled to $91K per month within a year selling writing as a service. My name is Dakota Robertson, and I show freelance writers how to make a living without their life sucking. I want to show you the easiest way for you to raise your prices and get more people wanting to work with you. I put together a page that breaks down the entire Growth Writing method. How to reposition yourself so you're not competing with AI—you're using it as a tool while everyone else gets replaced by it. How to find business owners who have real budget and actually need help, not tire-kickers who want to "pick your brain" and then vanish. How to reach out in a way that gets responses instead of silence. No begging. No groveling. No "just following up" seven times. And how to close deals at $3K to $5K per month without feeling like you need to take a shower afterwards. This is the same system Taylin used to quit his teaching job. The same system Clifton used to build his forever home. The same system Anthony used to leave financial planning behind and never look back. If you're tired of fighting for scraps while AI eats your lunch, click below and I'll show you where the wave is actually going. Ad 5 Stop trying to “find your niche” as a freelance writer. If you love writing but can’t figure out how to consistently land clients, niching down is probably the worst advice you could be following. Because “finding your niche” doesn’t solve your real problem. Your real problem is how you’re positioning yourself in the presence of the AI writing apocalypse. Most freelance writers say to business owners something like: “I’m a freelance writer” or “I write content for businesses.” And business owners are thinking: “Cool, so does ChatGPT. For $20 a month. So you provide the same thing to me as a robot.” That’s why sales feels so hard. That’s why your outreach gets ignored. That’s why you’re constantly justifying your rates. Because you’re positioned as a commodity that AI replaces. BUT… There’s a different way to position yourself that makes sales actually easy. It’s called “Growth Writing.” And here’s the difference: Growth Writers position themselves like this: “I help businesses grow revenue through strategic content and good ideas” “I build personal brands that generate inbound leads” “I turn executives into thought leaders that attract customers” When you position yourself as someone who drives growth, not just “writes content,”... Your outreach gets responses because you’re speaking to what business owners actually care about… Your sales calls become easier because you’re not defending your value against ChatGPT… And clients stay longer because they see you as a beneficial partner, not a replaceable vendor. This is exactly what I teach inside “The Growth Writer Shift.” It’s a complete program I created after helping hundreds of writers make this exact positioning change and scale to $10K-$20K per month. Writers like Taylin, a music teacher who grew to $20K per month while working full-time… Clifton, who scaled to over $1M per year as a father balancing family and business… And Anthony, who went from $0 to $91K per month within a year. How to reach out in a way that gets responses instead of silence. No begging. No groveling. No "just following up" seven times. If you're tired of fighting for scraps while AI eats your lunch, click below and I'll show you where the wave is actually going. Ad 6 The advice most freelance writers are following is way outdated. Most stuff out there is from like 2021, and it just doesn’t work anymore. Three years ago, the advice was: “Build a portfolio, find your niche, and start pitching clients on Upwork.” And it worked in its time. You could land clients at decent rates. Build a real business. Make $5K, $10K, even $15K per month if you were good. But then everything changed in late 2022. ChatGPT launched and within 6 months, the entire freelance writing market flipped upside down. This is most likely what you’ve been experiencing firsthand, if you’re a writer just trying to make it work. Every business owner has AI that can write for them, generating content that sounds exactly like them instantaneously. All the old strategies stopped working. Cold emails that used to get 20% response rates? Now they get ignored entirely. Pitching clients based on your writing samples? “I can just use ChatGPT!” Charging $2K-$3K per month for content? “I can just use ChatGPT!” The market changed, but the advice didn’t! If you want to succeed as a freelance writer in 2026, you can’t do what worked 3-4 years ago. You need to adapt to where the market is now. This means you have to stop positioning yourself as a “writer” and start positioning yourself as someone who drives growth… You need to stop selling deliverables like “blog posts” or “LinkedIn content” or whatever else, and start selling outcomes like leads, revenue, and brand authority… And you have to stop trying to compete with AI, and start using AI to do 80% of the grunt work while you focus on strategy and relationships… This is what I call, “Growth Writing.” And it’s how writers are actually succeeding in the post-AI world. People like Taylin, who scaled to $20K per month as a music teacher with zero business experience… Clifton, who went from corporate employee to $1M+ per year while spending more time with his kids… And Anthony, who hit $91K per month within his first year. My name is Dakota Robertson, and I show freelance writers how to make a living without their life sucking. I put together a program called “The Growth Writer Shift” that shows you exactly how to do this. Inside I give you: The complete repositioning framework that makes you AI-proof and lets you charge $3K-$5K per month per client… The exact outreach process that actually gets responses in 2026 (not the outdated cold email templates from 2021)… The simple sales call script that closes retainers without you sounding desperate or salesy… Plus AI tools that generate personalized outreach messages and help you fulfill client work in a fraction of the time… This is the updated playbook for freelance writing in the AI era. Not outdated advice from before ChatGPT existed. Click below to learn more. Ad 7 Right now, there are 23-year-olds with no degree, no formal training, and no “professional experience” making $15,000 a month as freelance writers. How? Energy drinks and AI. Okay, maybe not just energy drinks and AI. But they definitely don’t have a fancy journalism degree or years of experience at a prestigious publication or a dense portfolio. They just figured out something the traditional “writing career” people can’t see: In 2026, clients don’t care about your credentials. They care about results. They don’t ask: “Where did you go to school?” They ask: “Can you help me grow my business?” And if the answer is yes, they’ll pay you $3K, $5K, even $10K per month. No degree required. No 10 years of experience required. No portfolio full of Fortune 500 bylines required. What actually matters in the modern writing world is: Can you understand what a business owner is trying to accomplish? Can you come up with content ideas that will actually drive engagement and leads? Can you write–or use AI to help you write–content that sounds like them and resonates with their audience? That’s it. That’s the game. Understand how to position yourself correctly, not as a “writer” but as someone who drives growth; know how to reach out to potential clients in a way that gets responses; and use AI to do 80% of the execution work while you focus on strategy and ideas. This is exactly how people with zero formal training are crushing it right now. Like Rohith, who landed a $10K client as his very first deal—no degree, no experience, just the right approach. Or Mike, who went from $0 to $11K per month within 6 months while learning everything on the fly. Or Sarah, a busy mom who had never written professionally and landed her first client within weeks. You don’t need a degree. You don’t need to “pay your dues” at some underpaid media job for 5 years. You don’t need permission from anyone. You just need the right system. My name is Dakota Robertson, and I show freelance writers how to make a living without their life sucking. I put together a program called “The Growth Writer Shift” that shows you exactly how to sell freelance writing services in 2026 by focusing on selling growth to businesses. Not outdated advice from before ChatGPT existed. Click below to learn more. Ad 8 A significant chunk of freelance writers were wiped out by the AI apocalypse. And this should be celebrated! Their extinction created the biggest opportunity freelance writers have seen in a decade. Before ChatGPT, the freelance writing market was saturated. There were millions of writers all competing for the same clients, all selling the same thing: “I can write blog posts, social media content, emails, whatever you need.” Clients could hop on Upwork and find 500 writers willing to do the work for cheaper than you. Standing out was nearly impossible unless you had some crazy portfolio or years of experience. But then AI showed up and changed everything. It wiped out everyone who was selling “writing” as a commodity. All those writers churning out generic blog posts? Gone. All those content mills pumping out $50 articles? Gone. All those freelancers competing on price and speed? Gone. The market got absolutely decimated. But business owners still need content. More than ever, actually. But they don’t need “a writer” anymore. They can get writing from ChatGPT for $20 a month. What they do need is someone who can: Come up with strategic ideas AI would never generate Understand their business and audience in a way AI can’t Drive actual results like leads, engagement, and revenue And when you position yourself as that person instead of “just a writer,” something incredible happens: You’re not competing with anyone anymore. Because 95% of freelance writers either got wiped out or are still trying to sell the old way. They’re still calling themselves “freelance writers.” Still selling “blog posts” and “LinkedIn content.” Still competing with AI. But the 5% who figured out the new positioning? They’re in a completely different market. A market with almost zero competition. A market where clients are actively looking for what you offer and are willing to pay $3K, $5K, even $10K per month for it. This is what I call “Growth Writing.” And it only exists because AI wiped out the old freelance writing market. The extinction event cleared the board. And now there’s a massive gap in the market that almost nobody has figured out how to fill yet. Business owners everywhere are thinking: “I know I need content, but I don’t want to just use AI. It’s not strategic enough. I need someone who actually understands my business.” And they’re looking for someone to help them. But when they search “freelance writer,” they find the same old commodity sellers trying to compete with ChatGPT. So they give up and settle for mediocre AI content. That’s the opportunity. You can be the person who shows up positioned correctly and captures all that demand. Not as “a writer,” but as a Growth Writer. Someone who helps them grow through strategic content. Someone who uses AI as a tool but brings the strategic thinking AI can’t provide. People like Taylin, who scaled to $20K per month in his first year by positioning himself this way… Clifton, who built a $1M+ business by filling this exact gap in the market… Anthony, who hit $91K per month within 12 months by being one of the first to figure this out… My name is Dakota Robertson, and I show freelance writers how to make a living without their life sucking. More leads. Ad 1 If you sell writing as a service, and aren’t making the income you want to be making… (I’m talking to you freelance writers, ghost writers, copywriters, and content writers) I can guarantee that it’s because you’re selling your services backwards. If you’ve ever wondered why prospective clients: Don’t respond to your outreach (yes, they read every message they get)… Get on sales calls with you and act skeptical before they proceed to lowball you… End up treating you like a disposable employee rather than an indispensable asset… It’s because you’re selling your services backwards. Look, business owners only hire writers for 2 reasons: 1. To grow their revenue 2. To grow their brand (So they can grow their revenue) If you’re not selling growth, you’re going to get replaced by AI as it continues to get more and more advanced. But here's the thing: You don't need new skills. You just need to change how you position the skills you already have. Same writing. Same deliverables. Different conversation. Instead of selling "content", you need to sell growth. I call this Growth Writing and it’s how I’ve helped 200+ freelance writers create a life-changing income for themselves, all by changing HOW they sell their services! Instead of pitching deliverables, you pitch outcomes. That one shift is how writers are landing $3K-$5K/month retainers while everyone else fights for scraps. So I put together a product called The Growth Writer Shift that shows you exactly how to do this: the positioning, the outreach, the sales process, all of it. It costs $27 and if you want to know more about how it works, all the details are on the next page. For less than the cost of getting your food delivered, you can get access to the exact system writers are using to land $3K-$5K/month clients in 2026. Click below to check it out. Ad 2 How Freelance Writers Are Landing $3,000-$5,000/Month Clients By Selling The Opposite Of What Their Competition Is Selling… If you sell writing as a service, and you're not making the income you want… There's a simple reason. You're probably selling the OPPOSITE of what business owners want. When you pitch "content," "emails," "LinkedIn posts," or "landing pages", you're selling a commodity. And it’s a commodity because AI can do it faster (and in some cases, better) than you. Look, commodities get priced like commodities. That's why prospects don't respond to your outreach. That's why sales calls feel like you're defending yourself. That's why clients treat you like a vendor they can replace with ChatGPT. But there's another kind of writer making $3K, $5K, even $10K per month…from ONE client. They're not better writers than you. They just sell something better than what you’re selling. Business owners only pay writers for two reasons: 1. To grow their revenue 2. To grow their brand (so they can grow their revenue) When you sell growth instead of writing, everything changes. Your outreach gets replies. Your sales calls get easier. Your clients stay longer. Same skills. Same deliverables. Different positioning. I call this Growth Writing. Writers like Taylin used this to scale to $500K/year. Clifton crossed $1M. Anthony hit $91K/month in his first year. I put together a short program called The Growth Writer Shift that shows you exactly how to make this change: the positioning, the outreach, the sales process. It costs $27. For less than the price of getting your lunch delivered, you can learn the same system these writers used to stop competing with AI and start getting paid like a partner. Click below to get started.
