T&C Day 1 - Challenging Myself

So the other week on Facebook I had an idea, and decided to test it out…
(For those of you that don’t know, virtually all of the people you want to be talking to in the digital marketing space are on Facebook)
I posted this on my timeline…

It looks like what I was saying was somewhat relatable to my audience, people responded with all of their own frustrations and such.
Seems like a good problem to solve.
So I’ve decided that I’m going to spin this into a challenge for myself over the next 3 days, and you’re going to join me for it on this substack!
I’m heading today to San Deigo for Traffic & Conversion Summit which basically attracts the entire digital marketing community and is a non-stop party for 3-4 days.
BUT…
We’re not skipping any workouts, we’re not eating like a fat fuck, we’re not disregarding our work entirely, and we’re not boozing like crazy.
Maybe a little booze…
Like a mojito or two for the night…
But definitely not 8 tequila sodas like I did last time in Austin, I was pretty drunk and didn’t really have a reason to go that far down the rabbit hole.
When I’m at home, it’s usually pretty damn easy for me to stick to a routine and consistently be focused on my health and productivity.
It’s actually pretty cool, I was talking with Jesse Elder the other day on the phone and it wasn’t until I spoke with him that I realized how amazing life felt right now.
Sometimes it just kind of flies by and you’re not really taking inventory of how you feel…
(Something I should probably focus more on.)
Pretty much every day, I wake up, work, eat, train, read, talk to people, learn, and sleep.
To some people that may seem like a kind of boring life, but to me, this is the best my life’s been and it’s because of how simple it is.
Like literally not a worry in the world, I just write copy, hit the weights, cook food (I do like to cook my steak but I probably need to hire a chef), eat food, consume material that interests me, and talk to really cool people in the digital marketing world.
When I feel like it I socialize, do the whole dating thing, and hang with friends…
But pretty much the two things that I like to do the most: work and work out.
And my goal is to eventually have all of my income coming in from showing people how to reprogram their minds, change their bodies, and improve their life - that’s what’s being built in the background.
(More on that soon…)
So back to that Facebook post I threw up…
It genuinely has been hard for me to maintain my level of consistency and focus while traveling because these events not have after parties that last to 12 or 1 AM at night…
But also because it’s just so easy to hit the “fuck off” button when you’re not in your normal routine.
So if my goal is to lead people in the areas of mind, body, and being…
I need to be the leading example of what I talk about, that way no one can make any excuses when they step into my world.
What I want, I must provide.
If I have a client tell me, “I can’t stay committed to my priorities, I’m traveling right now.”
How much of a jackass am I if I tell him that’s BS when I’m doing the exact same?
So what I’m going to do is go to the busiest event in the entire industry, and not make a single damn excuse the entire time I’m there.
I got to see this level of accountability when I was with Cody Jefferson in Vegas, I really did love how we left an event at 9 PM and were up at 5 AM the next day getting after it in the gym.
To me, that’s a way better approach to these events because you don’t lose your momentum, and also you stay true to who you say you are.
Like Cody says, “This is who I am, so this is what I do.”
If I say I’m trying to be this guy…
I gotta be that guy.
It’s simple, not easy, but simple.
And that’s that.
Talk to you tomorrow.
