The Power Of Imagination

More insights for you from my trip to Austin…
Everything we’ve experienced in our reality…
Started off as a thought.
But how often do we actually spend time thinking about what we really want?
And I don’t mean a little bit of attention here and there for a few moments…
I’m talking about long, focused, deliberate, and specific thoughts on all details of what we want.
There’s a saying which seems to keep circling back to me on this trip…
“That which the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
I think a lot of where the belief in our visualizations comes from is the level of competence we have in our life.
And competence is something that comes through experience over time…
But the part about conceiving, that’s linked to the idea of focus, and that’s something you have control of right now.
Think about it like this…
If I had a magnifying glass and I’m trying to start a fire with it on a piece of wood, how long will it take to start the fire if I constantly move the magnifying glass and only direct sunlight through it for a few moments here and there?
The fire will probably never start.
But if I direct sunlight through it, and don’t move the magnifying glass, the fire can start very rapidly.
This is how focus works - thought is the magnifying glass, and the desired outcome is the fire.
When thought is focused for a long period of time, the desired outcome is achieved.
When I wanted to get a Porsche I thought about it non-stop…
I didn’t even have to try to think about it, every time I walked out the front of my house I was imagining it parked in my driveway.
Until one day, it happened.
A lot of what my work with Mr. Jesse Elder here in ATX has helped me see is how much more time I need to spend imagining the future I want…
And not just random thoughts here and there about it.
I’m talking about long deliberate periods of time spent focusing on the creation of all these different little parts of the reality I’m trying to create.
Yesterday we went on a drive to his farm, and on the entire car ride, Jesse had me speak about my future reality as if I had already experienced it.
That was just so much fun.
I talked about how amazing my wife is, how I love my ranch property out in Texas along with my high rise out in Miami, and how successful I’ve grown my coaching business as well…
We went to such extreme detail for such a long period of time that I feel like I’ve achieved what I wanted from this trip…
Which was clarity of my vision.
The clarity came from the micro details, not from some new macro way of looking at my life that I thought I was going to find.
We’re about to dive deeper today and I’m super stoked…
But if I could give you anything from this…
It’s to spend more time imagining.
Not for a little bit here and there…
Spend a lot of time on the creation of your vision.
For most people, they do it in passing…
But the power of deliberate focus is what actually starts the process of transforming thought into reality.
Take care, friend.
